  • Yip, had a few moments....
Going up hill in jan through a burst water pipe that frozen over.
Going in to work at the bike shed and forgot to unclip.
Got chased by a dog so stopped and couldn't get out, that one was due to wrong pedal/shoe combo.... At least the dog owner got a laugh, then a mouth full for having his dog off the leash in a public park.

I was rather funny looking back.

has anyone actually seen a video of someone falling due forgetting to unclip? The first time I fell, it was like in slow motion but I wonder how it would have looked like from another perspective :)

I agree with everyone, it's the embarassment of being seen falling that seems to linger rather than any pain from any injury.

This was me, my mate JUST caught it, unfortunately missing the first few milliseconds :)

The classic clipless topple - nothing hurt but pride.

By the way, the language is Serbian if you are wondering!

It's not the pain that hurts it's the feeling of looking a right prat lying on the floor trying to untangle yourself

I did it a few times when i first went clipless a few years ago. twice at the front of traffic lights. just couldn't get my foot out in time and when i did i was already going the other direction.

only advice i'd give is if at the front of traffic lights don't look back, get up and back on bike and peddle away as fast as possible when the lights turn green.

as most folk have said it's your pride that takes the biggest beating.

I never have, but a couple of weeks ago my son borrowed my bike and I forgot to warn him that I'd wound up the tension on the SPDs to the max. Apparently he went sideways into a shrubbery at one point. My only regret is that I didn't get to see it!
