I borrow my father's Passat when my car is being serviced, and it's a thoroughly loathsome thing. Handles like a battleship floating on blancmange, and everything seems to be placed in the most annoying, or uncomfortable place.
Also the electronic handbrake on them has a national reputation for failing completely either by not working - or working at times when it shouldn't - i.e. whilst do ~70mph down a lump of dual carriageway.....0 -
Oh yeah, that reminds me, the electronics of the car in general are pi** poor. keeps locking and unlocking itself, switching the hazards on and off, and opening and closing the windows.
Seems to be cause by having a big box full of electronics underneath the passenger seat footwell, rather than nice and high up out of the way.0 -

what else do you expect as a rental while your car is having warranty work done."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Oh and
140 KMH in the BMW 2,5K RPM. in the Swift 4,5 RPM
Thats a bad thing because?
Remember its a diesel, the power is lower down, 2.5k is probably where you want to be for the turbo to be spooled up ready.
I drove a 1 series and that was pants, although the engine was nice.
My old E36 (R Reg) 325 was a dream to drive, so smooth and the straight 6 engine made such an awesome sound.0 -

325 at R reg? Did that have the M52 engine in or the older one? I asked because I've got an S reg 323i with the newer 2.5 in.
I agree though. Gorgeously smooth and sounds so nice. Also just nicely wafts everywhere.0 -

I think you missed the point.
Perhaps I have, do pray tell.
Oh and yes it was a 323, not 325, I always used to say its a 325 as people used to say "but if its got a 2.5 engine in it surely it should be 325 not 323"
Got bored of explaining its a restricted 325 engine in the exhaust section.
The car was in that lovely purply blue colour.0 -
See, I thought it was designated 323 rather than 325 to differentiate it from the old 325 coupes with the old engines.0
