when to start easing off before an event (Fred Whitton)

Hi, never done any big rides like the Fred before, but have been training (lots of long hilly rides!) to try and get a respectable time.
Anyway, its 3 weeks away, whats the opinion on easing off on rides upto the event? Should i just keep doing a long ride each weekend (long meaining 90-100miles,i generally go out for an easy mountain bike ride one or two evening as well). Was planning on one more big ride next weekend then ease off a bit (just doing 40-50 miles stuff), or does it make sod all difference?!
Thanks

Sounds like you have a good plan! You know you can ride the whole distance, so no point doing it every week. Easier rides leading up to the event (final 2 weeks) should mean you arrive on the start line ready to go!0
