I thought it was really hard to decide... it's hard to know who will be on form and who wont... budget is pretty tight too... Mine is a team of potential, but inconsistent greats, with the big gun minnaar in there.

Am I right in thinking that you can't watch freecaster on an I Pad since it needs Flash?

I've just tried to see some of freecaster suff on the works compuotors and it sys I need to down load Adobe Flash.

Anyway This got me thinking cause I was going to get an I Pad on my next trip home but this may put me off

    Anyone know?

    Thanks
I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

  • iPad (or any apple iPod/iPhone) has no flash support

May be a freecaster app though?

That's a stupid solution to the problem (no t having a go at YOU, by the way). Instead of just allowing a single flash plugin, they expect all websites to come up with an app.
    Seriously?
  • hehe I know... flash is never going to happen on the iPhone... apparently something new is coming and Abobe won't give apple flash anyway.

Anyways, i'm still waiting for flash for my WP7, but at least i know its on the way!

not everyones really bothered about qualifying especially with that 45second sprint it makes sense to just cruise down it in qualifying to save energy.

did anyone see andrew neethlings speed and the speed trap? 75km/h

i think this will be an interesting and unpredictable race.

Adobe seems perfectly willing to give apple everything else.
Oh, bad news, there's no Flash on WP7 either (at least yet)

Erm, so nobody got any points, according to the website.
Wait, do we ONLY get points for a win? that seems kind of shite.

    Damn, Hannah DNF!

Yeah was a bit of a wtf is going on moment from the commentators...and then just carry on. No split times either. Has anyone heard if He's OK?

I thought hard about Gwin but just thought Gee and Minaar looked to have the beating of him. That was a blinder though. I reckon once the going gets a bit more technical he'll come up a bit short. But today, nearly 7 seconds up on Peaty!!! seriously great run though.

Can we all chip in for two more cameras on the courses?

Haha, i know, I wanted Gwin on my selection too, but opted not too cause of costs.
Incidentally, it's not a shortage of cameras, per se, that is the problem, it's because the riders start so soon after each other. There just physically isn't time to show everyone's full runs. So what they did in this case was film the top bit with the jumps, and film the bottom bit. Then they played back the top section off VTR whilst the riders were on the boring pedally bit, before cutting back to the bottom section, live. It worked quite well, I thought.
Unfortunately though, they just can't cover every foot of track, but I'm sure they'll have footage somewhere of what happened to Mick.

mick hannah is ok. just a bruised thigh. he somehow lost control on a easy corner near the top. hit a tree and sheared the stem bolts, but he'll be back to training within a few days. nothing major.

agreed with yehaa, their filming technique worked well and it is hard to cover the track becasue it costs a lot of money to film and we'll probably see a video of hannah as there would be other people taking pictures and filming in other parts of the track

Apart from the time constraints, addimg more cameras increases complexity, as well, remember. Their vision mixer desk may only have, say 12 inputs, so they'd need to either upgrade or link trucks somehow, and THAT then gets properly, properly expensive.
  • any footage of hannah's crash yet?

Wasn't the fastest speed gate around 78Kph or something? which is fast, but not crazy fast.

i have ridden bits of it, and IMO i've ridden a harder track on the abercarn side of the valley, but even still i was still going slow and hanging off the brakes
