Why is it so wrong to patch inner tubes? Surely, in this 'throw-away consumer society' some effort has to be made to re-use and recycle, as long as the tube is safe etc.

I have patched up many a relationship in the past - why not tubes????

I wear what look like Shimano mtb shoes on my road bike. They're not really mtb shoes, honest. It's just that all my bikes use SPDs. They're dreadfully uncomfortable, I view it as penance - truly.

+1 guilty as charged - although mine aren't uncomfortable - in fact they are very cosy Specialized Sonoma - my previous pair lasted five years of regular use before I replaced them.

I cant believe I have been WADING through SIN. I shall be the shepherd, leading the lost flock home to cycle-panacea.

I don't know what penance you shall all have to do. I must retire for quiet contemplation.

You all need to get out and rip your own legs off to overcome these slights of the rules.

I don't get many punctures... and have had failed patches in the past (I blame the patcher).

I don't even own a bike at the moment. I've just finished selling my old one in bits and I'm £600 short for my new bike and I don't really want to but it on the credit card.
