Arms of sunglasses under helmet straps. Mini pump attached to frame. Saddle bag (albeit a small one). Trainer socks. Probably more importantly, is that, erm, well, I cant bring myself to type the words out. I havent ridden since Sunday morning.

Hail Cippos or flagellate myself with a bike chain?

Flagellation with a chain (10 speed only) but heat up the chain on the BBQ first.

I think Velominati is a waste of web space and bandwidth. & I think all the sheep that follow their "way" should be dipped in lighter fluid and set alight for the amusement of myself and the other legions of people who feel the same, hah!

I already have a spike on top of the gates of hell waiting for my ars* so I fear no punishment you can offer me.

Your hell will be full of skinny blokes from London all kitted out in Rapha, sipping Italian coffees and chatting non-stop about the velminati rules with various French , Spanish and Italian cycling terms chucked in.

That the place where you do a left at Birmingham and fall into a big hole full of Dragons? Think I went out on a stag do once and ended up there, they really do know the meaning of a spit roast out that way.

    OK... deep breath... here goes

I sometimes wear a long sleeved black close fitting cotton T-shirt under my cycling jersey and pretend it is a base-layer.

I feel so much better now I've got that off my chest.

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

    Forgive me f...

    [nervous interlude]

When passing fellow cyclists I always say 'Hello' - Not to the riders face but to the down tubes of their frames. Free me from this judgemental position.

I've been using the wifes bike over the winter whilst she is out working.. I' now prefer it to my own which is gathering dust in the spare room.

    Here goes...

    - I love using my Camelpak on the roadie.
    - I have 2x bottle cages fitted - but are always empty (so far!)
    - I hate having the jersey pockets stuffed full and would rather carry a rucksack.
    - I never travel light.
--I carry compressed air and a pump on the road!
-- On a recent MTB ride, I managed to reveal that I was carrying a large adjustable spanner. I did however manage to hide the fact I was also carrying a spare tyre! [I was only 4 miles from my house!]
    - +1 never patch inner tubes
    - On my first 100 mile Sportive, I took both my Edge and Forerunner Garmins for data collection and feedback lol

The list of wrongs could go on and on. I am sorry and I am trying to change. But change is hard. lol

I think a Facebook community page can be organised, that's mostly a waste of space anyway so one more page isn't going to cause too much issue.

    *Ahem*

I am MTBing a bit atm, dodgy ankle. Road is off for a while as a) I've lent my road bike to a mate and b) through other circumstances, have gone from 4 available road bikes, not including the TT which I'd never get my leg over anyway, to none.

So currently if I want to ride (a bike), MTB is all I have.

    Cue violins please...

Don't be shy...we all know that the best fun you can have on two wheels is with a mtb between your legs.

Those smooth tyres on a road bike remove all vibrations.

Why is it so wrong to patch inner tubes? Surely, in this 'throw-away consumer society' some effort has to be made to re-use and recycle, as long as the tube is safe etc.

I have patched up many a relationship in the past - why not tubes????

The ankle is getting physio of sorts

However, the last time I went out, apart from getting lost on my own doorstep, I had a bit of an off due to weakness in it.

Well, that and downhill, lose chalk, a sharp lefthander, not far enough off the back and hitting the brakes hard.

I wear what look like Shimano mtb shoes on my road bike. They're not really mtb shoes, honest. It's just that all my bikes use SPDs. They're dreadfully uncomfortable, I view it as penance - truly.

Depends how much into rubber you are and if you believe size matters I guess?
