Had alot of changes made since this first post so have a read through the thread and check out the second page for more updated pictures & components fitted
Thought I'd post up a little bit about my latest pride and joy for all you carbon bike lovers, I've been riding xc and a few races here and there on a small scott scale for 5years and thought it was time to upgrade to a bigger frame but kept most of the components from it.
So after a nice trip to london yesterday in the sun to pick up my new specy stumpjumper frame and wallowing about the underground with a huge bike box here we are a day later with the bike almost finished and dying to go out to dalby forest to give it a good thrashing
Got an XTR crankset on its way hopefully and an xtr front conventional mech too to finish it off, if I have any spare cash maybe a ritchey wcs seatpost too.
Also tempted to sell the fox f100 rlc's and look out for some shorter 80 or 90mm forks the same or maybe rock shox sid's or similar to make the handling abit sharper.

That is one sexy looking bike, cool chainstay protector, did that come with the frame?0
-
Couldnt have put it better myself, that is one seriously nice looking machine. What was the overall cost of putting it together?0
-
Looks good. You racing it at Dalby at the weekend?0
-
been to London and come back with a carbon stumpy....
Doesn't the big cheese live in London? Has he sold it already?0 -

You appear to have a perfectly good front mech and cranks on there... you've only got until Wednesday to enter. No EOL.
Old Ralphs, not seen those for a while!0 -
There is no front mech at the moment if you look close in the pics
I'm awaiting delivery of one along with a new xtr crankset so time will tell whether they come in time. I know need to get myself entered, got it ready to pay for on xcracer but going to have to wait till the last minute unless I'm 100% sure my bike will be ok and ready by thursday.
I like my old ralphs they were only used once at newnham park a few years back so thought I may aswell use them up as they are expensive tyres.
Got a new rocket ron or Nobby Nic to go on the front for race days though. When in doubt go flat out! My steeds below:

Very nice bike Sir, looks very similar to my S-Works. Not entirely sure what the difference is that justifies them selling the S-Works at an almost extortionate price...
Lovely to ride, fast as shit off a shovel and very organic lines.
I have just got some matte carbon easton bars and some Spesh Rocca grips (lost the bar ends but will leave it as is for now.....
Go and enjoy it, my health hasn't been too hot lately so I haven't used mine as much as I would like.0 -
Pah! Go single ring then, I'll be running a 36t! :-)0

hehe yeah I wish, I got to try save my cash now and sow up my pockets after the big holes I burnt in them. Would like to save up for a 2x10 transmission at the end of summer but I know I'll only end up settling for xtr or equivalent as I just can't resist sexy looking parts
thanks big cheese was looking at yours the other day before I got this and got all excited love yours would be interesting to see what difference there is in weight in the two frames and anything else. Nowhere tells you how heavy the frames are or factory bikes which I think is odd  feels light as hell though and I know theres still plenty of weight to be shaved off if it ever needs it. I was just thinking about trying wide low rizers without bar ends at some point as I've been on flat bars on my xc bike for nearly 4 years straight.
The weather is too good to be true so I'm getting my arse off this smelly pc chair and getting out into the bramble and fern bushes of yorkshire right now seen as I got the day offWhen in doubt go flat out! My steeds below:

Top cranks there, not the lightest but by far the best looking still, and they are robust with a good strength to weight ratio......
Got a pic of the bolt that's missing? DId you buy 2nd hand (they can be purchased aftermarket)
Are you running the BB31 interface on the BB?0 -

thats the bolt I need, struggling to find it anywhere online that has them instock as its not the kind of thing many lbs would have
the cranks were nib bought from a private seller on here, he's checking if he has it when he gets home in next few days from being abroad but I need to have a bolt sorted by the weekend really as I hope to race in the dalby brit national on sunday,
Also need the 2.5mm spacer for the press fit bb on the frame so the cranks are correctly spaced. No idea where to get one of those quickly either without buying another bb
Whats the BB31 interface? lol sorry if I'm being stupid my blonde hair is starting to bleach int he sun :roll:When in doubt go flat out! My steeds below:

It's just the name of the Shimano Compatible BB (BB91) that you have to use to run shimano cranks on the Spesh frames....
Phone your spesh dealer to obtain the spacer, although there was a six month wait for the BBs..... shame you'rs didnt come with the spacer..0 -
That frame has OSBB, which is like BB30, but subtly different. About the only cranks than do work with the press-fit bearings are the Spesh/Lightning ones. Everything else you have to use the adapter cups, as you're doing.
Talk to Spesh warranty about a spacer, they're very good.0 -
only place I could find them online (£18 shipping from the states!!! )

Petra Cycles always list spares, but any Madison dealer can get one, post free, in a couple of days. Just get the exploded parts diagram and get the code.0

yeah at that price from the states I may aswell buy a silly yumeya bolt but that is a rediculous price for one silly boltWhen in doubt go flat out! My steeds below:

thought I'd put a little update up, still not got the much needed bolt for my xtr cranks to get them fitted
Got my new set of dt swiss forks today and fitted them when I finished work so that makes up for it
Ready for a real ride tomorrow now! Will see how they compare to my fox f100's, expecting abit more flex and less stable but they are 400g lighter!

here's another update, got the XTR nondriveside crank bolt sorted awhile back thanks to crc.
Just last week I've fitted a new set of White Avid Elixir CR's that replaced the Juicy Carbons & put on order a sram redwin red XO rear mech & shifters to match.
Had some good rides up at hamsterly, stainburn forest, dalby forest for the wold cup round & raced the dalby dare and had fun doing the red route a week before.

Man, now that is a pretty thing!
I have similair colours to your own on a white frame, something that has slightly bemused me though, why get SRAM X0 shifters when you've got XTR's; is it simply for colour?
If so I'll gladly take those hideous abominations of shifters off your hands at no charge
How much would you want for the XTR shifters, I'd quite like to replace my X0's with them...
Oh and I want your forks! Bloody pricey at nearly a grand though0
