training/racing with wheezing after a TT??

I raced a hill climb on monday and felt very wheezy afterwards. it was a big effort and it was a bit chilly and I could have warmed up more. after the tt I felt tight chested and that night was very "loose" in the chest and wheezy.
today I feel fine but you can still hear some looseness in my chest and my wheezing is kind of there. i havent ridden since, tonight is the local club 10 and I wanted to try my new bike but my enthusiasm to ride might be overriding sense to give it a miss.

Do you think this is exercise enduced asthma or possiby a slight chest infection( if I cough up phlegm its slightly discoloured? also I guess im better off giving the TT a miss tonight? bearing in midn I have a week in the alps next week and want to be fit for that?

Am I being over cautious as this is a fairly normal reaction to a very hard effort on monday night ?

discoloured = infection most often. But coughing, tickly chest is not abnormal if you give your lungs more stick than they are used to. If the Alp visit is important I would err on the side of caution.

From experience of exercise induced asthma, the chest would not be 'lose'. It would be wheezy, tight, and difficult to breath.

If you had a chest infection, you'd be hacking up all the time, I would have thought. Might just be a viral thing.....

I'm not a doctor, so of course do not take this is a diagnosis!

    thanks for the help
I have had it before but the hillclimb was intense so it was worse than previous times I dont thnk its asthma, just a load of cold air in my ill prepared lungs.

still might give the tt a miss which is a shame as its a stunning still day

personally i'd give the tt a miss, rest for your trip... i'm prone to chest infections/colds after big exertions..... i get that over trained feeling pretty easily... the last thing you want is a full on chest infection ruining you trip...
