We were up there on Sunday, never seen it so busy before, my son spend his time stuck behind loads of riders. They don't seem to like moving for kids - but that's another story......

Mind you he was pleased with himself as he cleared the bridge on the freeride section - the bit at the end of your vid; as you can see most of the riders land too short, giving them a really heavy landing, he managed to jump that bit further on Sunday, I think it may be because he was so wound up from his ride!!

I was busy the red wasn't too bad at all but saw plenty heading down the blue and black, i think it was the bridge that caught me out as it was the first time i'd ridden the freeride section. The drop off is a little buttock clenching but think i dabbed the brakes a touch and lost speed on the bridge leaving me with a short landing thus getting me out of shape leading to the crash on the next tabletop.
What if your dreams and fears existed in the same place? What if to get to heaven, you had to brave hell? What if everything you've ever wanted cost you everything you've ever achieved? Would you still go there?

    great vid!
  • Would this be a good start for a first trail center? .. I would be going on my own and live about 4 hours away, would proberbly stay over somewhere local - Worth it or is there not enough to do for a "medium" rider..

I think I will be OK on the red but I've never been to a trail center before.

I've only been here and Healey Nab as far as graded routes is concerned... The red here is less challenging than that at the Nab... It's just longer... If you're travelling and you are used to doing distances of 15 miles plus, you might find just the one lap a little short... I usually chain a loop of the red and then a loop of the blue together.

It was my first trail centre, so I'd recommend it to others. Gonna take a friend here for his first trail centre experience soon.

If you find it short, then it's easy to loop around your favourite sections and session them a few times. I usually spend a good half a day to go round, playing on some of the blacks over and over.

Theres a decent sized loop still barriered off on the red at the moment so its a bit shorter than normal. unfortunately its a good loop too with a loead of table tops.

I absolutely love degla, its the first place I ever went and even now after litterally (not litterally) a million times Im still not even close to being bored of it!

Ditto. (apart from the first place I ever went!)
It's fun, even after tons of visits, since you can always pick up the speed faster and faster, and nail those blacksection corners a little bit better each time.

I need to figure out how to loop the black sections. I assume its just from the fire road. Could do with taking a map printout really. I love parallel univers but at the same time its a real shame to miss out big jims so I want to do both really :D

Are you planning to go to the crudcatcher Llandegla meet-up? I'll show you how to loop them up.

I'll never forget the first time i rode the red route and had never hit a table top nevermind "the twins" and didn't see the chicken route so hit them both and landed both beautifully i was amazed/overjoyed at what i'd just acheived. I guess it's the little acheivements like that which gives you a bond to certain riding spots, i can go to Llandegla with mates and point out each little acheivement i've made since i started riding again in august/september.

I have to say, I'd never really come across any sensible jumps before going to llandegla. It's one of my weaknesses. But I'm steadily improving thanks to my visits there.

I've been getting better every time i ride Llandegla and last sunday was the first off i'd had in the 6-7 months since i got back into riding, hopefully i'll lean from that mistake and nail that tabletop the next time i go, but have a feeling my sphincter will be chewing holes in my shorts

Lucky for me i've rediscovered some old dirt jumps from when i was a kid local to me so can build my confidence up on them once fully healed and back on the bike

i've grown to really like CL, at first i thought it was a bit short/limited but they've consistantly inproved and added to it over the years, its definetly biased towards smooth fast riding with jumps, but thats what most folk want so even though i prefer to try and squash em its still 8)

many of my local rides use the trails: meeting up with mates coming over for that day to do the black, as an "up" onto the moors, a quick descent down the blue after coming the long way back from work or an evening spin round the red. lucky to live so close :D

Ditto, we are there virtually every Saturday and Sunday for about 4 years now with both my boys (live about 20 mins aways). I have seen the track expand and evolve over that time (along with my riding). I believe there is a lot of new track being built which is going to more "technical"; they always seem to be building something new!

It can get a bit busy at times (Sunday before last!), but doesn’t normally cause a problem on the trails. Mind you it’s always quieter over Easter, I guess it’s because people are doing “family things”, luckily for me “family things” is riding!!

    I believe your right!

My Bro had a mechanical on Saturday and during the course of his 1hour walk back to the cafe he came across some WTF trail building, a completely new section!

Have they changed JJ's jumps? Cause frankly, the ones in the skills area, although fewer, were much better.

I don't know, but the whole loop and twins have been closed for weeks now. So we have been doing the first black twice to extend the run.

Can start to concentrate on our times again!!

It's dead easy, just a case of following the fire road back round and you can pretty much guess where to turn off.

I'm there most saturdays and do big jims and parrellel universe 2,3 or 4 times some days. 8)
