Hi All ,
We are about to embark on an easter trip to our chalet in Morzine , a fortnights skiing was the idea there isn't a lot of snow and the forecast is very spring/summer.
I would have done a bit of cycling on the road bike I keep at the house but as it looks like the skiing will be limited I will probably ride to ride every day.
My main event this year is the raid alpine in July so any advice/plans for a two week training programme would be greatly appreciated .
cheers bob

You can do a nice little circuit: Les Gets, Taninges, Samoens and ride the Joux Plane every day. That'll sort you out.0

I will also be out at Easter with some bikes to ride, my biz partners have been riding since feb and there is plenty of off road if that tickles your fancy. Road riding at Easter can be great but watch for melt water and re freeze if going out early, check the roads are open, jeux plane will still be closed more than likely and make sure you take plenty of clothing for chilly cols, it's quite startling how cold it will be at the top.
Btw there is still plenty of skiing in avoriaz and piste conditions are good, the lift prices will be dirt cheap too so good for a couple of hours early morning blast and then g
Rab your bike and hit some cols.... Or maybe hit the lower slopes
If you are back in the summer be sure to pop into our shop for a brew and ride with some of our staff, Phil is a pretty handy road rider and we keep a few
felt road bikes for hire, we mainly hire high end mtn bikes but most of us road ride too.0 -
Ride long steady days (perhaps every other) in the Alps. But be careful not to overdo it. Get suitable gears for repeated long hilly efforts. Practice eating & drinking whilst riding, and dealing with very changeable and unpredictable weather.0

Couple of years ago I was in Samoens, which is on the other side of the Joux Plane from Morzine, and ended up doing the JP in 59 minutes on my 3rd try. Was quite pleased with that. Couple of days later we did a 5 hour ride that started in Samoens, up the Joux Plane, down into Morzine and then back up the Avoriaz. 2 climbs, 1 hour to do each one. Then 3 hours of flat. I was cooked.0
