Garmin virtual partner

This has probably been asked before but I can't find it :? .

When or how often does your virtual partner update itself? I have been using it on my commute to/from work for a month or so now and have been beeting it by a mile many times but it doesn't seem to be adjusting or if it is I can't tell, how would i know if it does?

    If i understand what you are asking, as far as i am aware the VP doesnt update itself automatically, it just uses a time and distance that you have input manually, on say a quick workout , and the same if you are following a previously ridden course, the VP then rides at whatever the average speed of the quick workout or previously ridden course is/was, so if you beat the VP by a minute, it wont then auto adjust to your fastest time, you dont say what Edge you are using, 305/500/705/800 , actually on the 800 you can adjust the VP speed on the fly by scrolling to the VP screen and touching the +/- buttons and change the speed higher or lower.you cant do this on the 305, dont know about the 500/705.

    As Kettrinboy says, it's not automatically updated on my 705.

    Each time you do the ride in a record fastest time, save that file to the Courses list (ie overwrite the old file).............then try to beat it. :P

    Ahhh, now I thought it was clever enough to take an average speed from previous rides :roll:
