does your bar have metal inserts inside it for the clamps on the grips?

i know my ritchey ones did.

if so, you might fine you have the grips on the wrong way round.

if there are no inserts, it makes no diference.

ps, i love those grips, if they did them in green, id have another set and that set up looks superb.

    Reinforced clamping areas ;)

PS: The grips ARE the right way round ;)

yeah i know what the inserts were for cheesey

my bars only had inserts at the ends so the grips had to be the other way around

Ha ha.. on the Easton bars, they are reinforced around where the shifters and brakes go, so as long as you don't go to town like I did with the fork expander (now stuck in my forks for the duration) you should be fine ;)

Cheers, really happy with the way it turned out, as it's my only bike now I wanted it exactly how it turned out.

Only think I am thinking of changing is the saddle to a Spech Romin SL, as someone mentioned above, its like sitting on a razorblade....

haha, thats the thing about saddles, we ll want them to be as light as posible but we still have to sit on the fuppers!
  • I used to have a Spesh Romin saddle, can't remember exactly which model, but I don't really recommend them. Nice to look at, decently light, but I found it very uncomfortable, and ended up selling it.

Of course, saddle choice is to each their own, but still.

I used to love my Spesh Toupe Team, but they dont do them in black and red anymore, and I don't want another white saddle

    A few (hopefully better) pictures.

Yes, the stickers were only removed today

She's had 2 (maybe 3) outings, short rides as my health has been not the best for the last couple of months, but things are on the up now hopefully.

She runs super fast, however quite twitchy due to the incredibly steep front end, but comes in and out of corners like no other, it makes my old Marin TI look like a slouch, although this is a tad heavier. Fastest bike I have ever ridden apart from my roadie.

And because I am a shameless tart, I bought a matching S-Works 2D Helmet......

Strange? They are all showing up on mine...

God, I am so sick with this vomitting viral thing I have, anything today is doing my head in, think I need another lie-down....

Im sure I uploaded them OK.. ?
  • Your stumpy looks so stupidly sexy Mr big cheese, you outdone me with the amount of red you have on yours  inspired to shave a few extra grams off of mine now and see about getting abit more red alloy here and there :P Have you weighed it? Would be interesting to compare with mine :)

    Cheers :D

I actually think I have overdone it TBH..

I may sell my KCNC stuff off of there and buy something less blingy, I have been known to go a tad over the top with the KCNC stuff...

I have electronic bathroom scales, I weighed myself bolloc naked then weighed myself holding the bike and the difference was bang on 20lb.. not the best way to do it but it's accurate enough for me...

Cheers, the hoses are fine, must be an optical illusion in the photos... ?

In fact the are a bit short if anything... tight when I turn the bars..... :)

    Oh it's shit-hot speed-wise.... the tyres are pretty fast-rolling too ;)

Well, after the debacle that was this:

Selling my M970 XTR cranks (as I wasn't happy with them and fancied something different) Sold them for £200

Purchased new-second-hand FSA Team carbon triple clamps for £185 which were gorgeous but just didnt want to play with my Shimano BB91

Sold FSA cranks for £180 so lost £5 there...

Thought "what shimano cranks apart from XTR that would not be out of place on the S-Works, but won't break the bank...

    ... XT!!

Weight-wise only about a 70gr penalty minus BB (which I am not using as I have BB91 installed on the frame)

Funny thing is they actually suit the bike better than the XTR, and I know (from having 2 sets of these very cranks before) that they are fit and forget, and a great piece of kit.

All I need to do now is sort out my front X0 shifter as even though it's new, it's playing up.

As with all kit Shimano, easy to fit and easy to maintain, I don't know why I ever thought about going elsewhere!!!

Im getting my mate to come and take some proper pictures of this to show what a beautiful bit of kit it is, not as light as I would like but I ain't no 10-stone-soaking-wet bloke

the red raceface deus xc cranks would have looked amazing on this. i like xt's but for me i wish shimano would machine the chainring teeth like ta and raceface do to stop the outer ring looking tatty.

Nah the red cranks wouldn't have worked, ano red and painted red clash. IMO the pedals don't really work. Looks good though now though!

    Cheers matey,

Pedals are a bit of a sore opint with me, I cant use SPDs as my ankle is borked. I really wanted some nice, light stylish flats that would go with the frame (if there is such a thing) but couldnt find anything remotely nice)

The CBs are plenty big, but I may stick them on the Corratec.

Oh and I have big feet so need a widish.platform.

    Anything anyone can recommend?

It was just the colour I'm not a fan of, plain black would be alright.

KCNC do some stupidly expensive light flat pedals, but IIRC they're a bit rubbish!
