One of my cycling buddies called the Bianchi 928 C2C "Darth Vader" due to it's all black/carbon setup and the name stuck.

The Cervelo P2C was named by its previous owner as "The B***h".

Otherwise my bikes just get called by their brand names.
  • My Raleigh Randonneur which I use mostly for communting is Crusty.

On so many levels she just is.

    Specialized Allez is called Maxi.

Buying new bike shortly and already looking to name it, may even get name panited on.

Question: Why do you get attached to a bike more than other items you own?
  • Personally I haven't, however Mrs Dave has called my mmmBop Jenny - apparently she wants to have a name for her competition.

My daughters have been heard to say that Daddy is out riding Jenny when asked where I am....

why? I have never named my bikes, as they are all for different purposes I just refer to them by that, the road/track/MTB bike etc.

Then again we have a pet rabbit and although his offical name is houdini, in reality he is just called 'the rabbit'.

Thanks....it looks like I'm gonna have to start thinking of names...for a '94 Raleigh MTB and for my future purchase of a Spesh Secteur...

You have a Raleigh which you have NOT called Walter?

I've called my Ribble Winter 'Sienna' after Sienna Miller. My wife tells friends and family that I am 'out riding Sienna' to my great amusement :D

Well, my name is The Mighty W, and my soon to be built bike is a 1963 Harry Quinn. I think you can guess what my bike's going to be called :)

    Sadly yes,

    My Trek = Trevor
    Mrs Felt = Freddy
    Mrs Orbea = Olive

My new PX Nanolight is yet to be named
  • When my brother in law bought his C'dale Six, we decided that due to his unnatural knowledge of the minute pop princess's works, his bike should henceforth be called "Kylie". As we're doing LEJOG together this year, my CAAD9 inevitably became "Dannii"

But it gets worse - his Dawes Galaxy is now "Marjory" and my Felt is "Felicity"

Gawd but we're sad...... both wives (sisters, and unfortunately not the Minogues) just shake their heads.
