Hairy legs don't look quite right, but (blokes) shaving legs doesn't seem right either. :)

    So, no.

I detest shaving my ugly face twice a week - no way am I starting on my legs!

As an aside, anyone tried the new Gillette ProGlide Power? Always sceptical about all these claims in adverts, but these really are bloody good

    Only twice a week?!

I object to the proglide on the basis that they can't simply sell it as a "sharper razor". Instead, they give me this bulllsh!t about thinner blades and less pull.

tried it and like it - gets really close - get away with every other day now for work!! magic

As for legs not a mission - can understand pro's needing it but not club riders - and also the wife would ridicule me if i did!!

I would have to take myself outside for a good kicking, just for considering it.

Yes, yes - we all do it... didn't anyone tell you at the bike shop?

As part of the process and entry into the personal grooming club, you have to upload the before, during and after videos to YouTube

    I pity the fools...

Few of us are good enough for it to matter. If you like TT's or race competitively then I can understand it.

For me, it wont hurt my club runs, commutes, or sportives. My leg minge grows wild.

yup, once if i can get away with it - always been a scruffy git and see no reason to change now

As I said, pretty much my usual thoughts, but they really are a world apart from even their previous top of the range razor - virtually no pull with a decent shave gel added

legs - yes at least once a week

face - not till the summer bike comes out
  • Isn't it more so cuts and scrapes are easier to clean and plasters stick better than for any aerodynamic reason?

Don't be silly, it just looks loads better, and feels nicer as well. Also far better when you get a legs massage, hairs and a deep massage don't go together so well.

Also shows off the muscles better

Shave them! You get used to doing it and you keep on top of it.

Top tip is to shave them in the bath, makes it a lot easier than the shower.

Whether you shave or not, my favourite comment on a previous thread on this subject was the man who became cross because when he came to use his imac (the cream not a computer) it was empty because his wife had used it. There is something just a bit ironic about that statement.
  • After three years of cycling I've only just got the bottle (and I mean last Saturday) to go out in bibs without a pair of mtb shorts over the top. Now I find I'm expected to shave as well?

now youre going to notice the hairs on your thighs poking through the lycra
and getting pulled the wrong way by the silicone strip.

it does feel weird shaving the legs but get over it girlfriend :D

I think a lot of cyclists go through this dilemma but few ever look back. You have many options available.

Clippers - quick but not very close and regrowth occurs very quickly

Wet razor - quickish and lasts a little longer than clippers and gets a much smoother closer shave

Veet - not tried this. Some worry about 'chemical burns'. I'll probably give it a try some time

Wax - not done this either but watched friends have it done. Don't think it's as bad as people make out and seems to last much longer than a shave (month+ ?)

DO Nothing - sport a lesser tufted crotch porcupine and associated thigh undergrowth making a break through the lycra every time you go out on the bike.

Embrace the awesome looking legs, easier tanning, nicer massages, feel of your own legs in bed and in clothes.

Warning: It's catching and can lead to other areas ;)

Did mine when I used to race many years ago, do it now and your legs feel great, the missus likes it, they are easier to tan, easier to massage, and it feels so clean.

As long as I ride a bike my legs will be shaved.

Only time a razor ever goes near my legs is about 30 seconds before the tattooist gets started on my next design!

Wear shorts far too often off the bike to be going about with shaved legs!

shave em!!! so much better, hate the silicone strip pulling on the hairs and hairy legs in lycra is not a good look. Funny how the topic of shaving legs always goes hand in hand with cyclists. What about bodybuilders, footballers, tennis players? Ive got sky HD I can tell :D I even know hard as fook rugby players who shave their legs just to save the hairs getting pulled, massage etc, infact I think the only sport they dont shave is maybe snooker but then again they maybe shave their wrist just to produce less drag on the stroke :D
