Tabata Intervals are evil

Just done my first ever tabata intervals and boy are they evil. I've done HIIT before but not with such short rest periods. I used by stairs at home and ran up and down them as quick as I could. Definetly going to do them again!

I did them as my only training for a few weeks, wrote a thread about it. Boosted my VO2max power but made everything else worse...

I think they'd be good as a cheeky top up between races.

I've only just recovered from a grade 2 sprained ankle so thought i'd try some HIIT. I'm primarily a footballer so thought it'd benefit me more than a cyclist.

Four minutes didn't sound like a long time until you actually do them!

I'm not sure running up and down stairs as fast as you can is the best way to come back from a praised ankle!

I'm sure my physio would have advised me not too but I felt fine as did my ankle. It has been 8 weeks since the sprain!
