When should I fill it in, because the questionnaire says to complete on or after 27 March?
You can complete your questionnaire as soon as you receive it. But make sure your answers are about Sunday 27 March, because this is census day.

The answers that you give should be about census day, even if you fill in your questionnaire on another day.

As soon as you have completed your questionnaire, please submit online or post it back. Our questionnaire tracking system will then be updated to show that you have completed and returned your questionnaire.

We realise that most people will want to complete the census as soon as possible and send it back. This is fine.

in fact, looking anywhere on that site, it informs those who are not fucktards that they can complete the survey as soon as they get it.

Aren't census' supposed to be done so that governments can use the info to target public services. As there won't be any public services in a while...WHATS THE FRIGGIN POINT!!. If only I was hard enough to survive prison, I'd tell them to stick their census up their obvious.

You lot seem like the best source of advice, I'm wondering what I should put down for "what languages do you speak" for Bompette, who has just turned 1? Or religion?

I know it's a bit crap but I still went for the jedi option, the joke's old but it still causes some funny stuff- frinstance the Church of England used the census to give a number for total number of religionists, and said "Look, X many people are religious, therefore, religion is essential". Yes they did include the Jedi.

My mum's put herself down as church of scotland. Hasn't been to church for 20 years, hasn't believed in god for 40, kicked the church elder out of her house a while back... But she still thinks it's the right thing to say because she was christened CoS. Grr.

We may have left ours on the sideboard in the flat and forgotten to send it back, so it'll be waiting there until May when we go back down there...

And that's why I have a problem with the whole "hahaha, I'm a jedi" thing. It means religious peeps (yeah, I'm down with the kids) get more credibility than they should, get more of a voice than they should and may well end up getting more public money than they should. For a joke that doesn't actually acheive anything.

As for being legally required to fill the census in, I thought that was only for the basic things like the number of people in your house and their DoBs.

My parents did the same, but for CofE. Last time they went to church was about 15 years ago for a wedding. My mum's dad died a few years ago and we had a humanist funeral for him, but they still think they're religious :?

EDIT: on the occupation bit, after considering "world's handsomest millionaire" I decided to be honest, so it was:

    Job title
    Information analyst

    Main duties
    .....Information analysis

This CoE "default religion" gives a complete misrepresentation of the genuine religious makeup of the UK and affords the CoE state powers that it simply should not hold.

Something like 72% of the population say they are Christian but when asked if they believe God a smidge less than 50% actually do!
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.
