Turbo Pain in the ..........

Throughout the winter I have been hitting the turbo of an evening and riding at weekends as usual.
Why then can I sit on my bike all day when out on the road with no numbness or pain in the posterior, yet after 15 minutes on the turbo I am numb and hurting?
I have tried the front wheel on the floor, level and raised but with no joy.
Any ideas?

when you are out on your bike you have laterally movement beneath you, keeping you core moving. You will get the same thing standing perfectly still for 20mins and standing on a stability board for 20mins, or more commonly when you sit at your desk!
try getting up of the saddle a bit and you will notice that the numbness disappears!0 -
I get this too - you've just got to incorporate more out-of-the-saddle work into longer turbo routines. Mysteriously, my right hand seems to get pins and needles before anything else, which is relieved by getting off my arse. The human body is wonderful thing.0
