Oh cheers Flash, John Waite! Luckily I hit the close button just in time! Like the 80's stuff myself, plus psychobilly and rockabilly.

Fantastic That's one of the songs that really gets the hairs on the back of my neck up. How the hell did Townsend manage to wrap his guitar cable around his legs like that without ending up flat on his face

Nice to find I'm not the only one into Psychobilly & Rockabilly here!
As such obviously I never blub to any music but as well as 'Hurt' by the Man in Black I love 'Harbour Lights' by Elvis Presley
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlkYrrUJeCY
& 'Blue Eyes Cryin in the Rain' by Willie Nelson.

I also find Symphony number 3 by Gorecki incredibly moving - sorrowful yet so inspiring, it always puts things into perspective for me anyway:

Can't do PF at at the mo. but this is wonderful! Thanks for a soaked keyboard!!0 -
Doesn't make me weep, but every time i hear Simon and Garfunkel's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' it brings back memories of when radio2 - Johnny Walker was the dj - observed a minutes silence in memory of the 16 Dunblane schoolchildren who were murdered by Thomas Hamilton. The haunting piano intro and Art Garfunkels crystal clear vocals typified the moment, and sort of sent a message to all the relatives, that thousands if not millions of strangers were thinking of them in their time of grief.0

Incredibly moving pieces, if we're going all "classical" I'll put forward the second movement of Appassionata. It always gets to me, don't know why.

I actually have the sheet music of this hanging over my desk in the ludicrous belief that I'll learn it by osmosis

Cheers.. I always think it's particularly poignant as June Carter (his wife) who is in the video died quite soon after the video was made, and Johnny followed her a few months later.“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”

Bon Iver is a really emotional artist. Personally i think his album For Emma, Forever Ago is an absolute masterpiece. His performance on Later with Jools Holland was pretty powerful if a bit raw.
Sigur Ros can be quite emotional in many ways.
I don't really listen to classical music but i do like some Ludovico Einaudi songs. I Giorni is beautiful.
And one that will no doubt piss off any Ian Curtis/Joy Division fans - i really like the Nouvelle Vague cover of Love Will Tear Us Apart. Preferably sung by Mélanie Pain mmmmmmm.0 -
