Rookie turbo purchase and questions

Hi,

I'm looking at purchasing a trainer. Bit late I know but I've had enough of the weather and bike cleaning.

Do excuse the rookie questions but do you have to get off the bike to change resistance on most machines and which is the quietest trainer going?

I have a budget of £200 and I'm planning on going the Turbo + HRM to measure performance for some sportives this year as I'm definitely not in the powertap money leagues.

Would really appreciate any advice.

Cheers

One of the Cyclops Fluid range. Quiet and as close to a road feel as you'll get on a turbo.

+1 for CycleOps. I got a Jet Fluid Pro to replace a cheaper Tacx mag trainer. Did more hours on it in the last 3 months of 2010 than I did on the Tacx in the previous 5 years added together.

On the CycleOps the resistance is progressive so the harder you pedal the hard it gets, no need to get off.

Have you seen this thread http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtop ... t=12661884 ? Lots of useful stuff in there.
