After seeing the iMagic down to £360 in the Edinburgh Bike Co-Op sale I couldn't resist and that arrived yesterday as an early birthday present. I set it up last night and had a quick play, with the first proper session scheduled for tonight.

I like the look of the real-life videos so plan to add a couple of those, however my iMagic came with the Fortius software - not TTS - so would I be better spending the cash on upgrading to that first?

If I do go for the RLV's which ones would you recommend?

  • TTS3 is current relaease but still seems to be a lot of bug issues with it - so would recommend holding off on the TTS front just now

Main difference between Fortius and TTS is that TTS also gives you Google Earth display (but not for older RLV's)

In meantime for something a bit closer to home - here is links to the Kikrliston 10TT course that I filmed about a month ago which will run under Fortius

    (1) Zip files containing the files for Tacx Fortius 2.0x software can be downloaded from http://www.filefactory.com/file/b4cc0c3 ... ortius.zip

    (2) Installation instructions are here- http://www.filefactory.com/file/b4dcf01 ... ctions.txt
  • You can make your own Real Life Videos for Fortius? Really?

That is something I'd be interested in too!

    Thanks

I'll download that TT course and give it a try - I used to live in Linlithgow so know those roads well.

I'd quite like to make some of my own RLV's as well. I've got a GoPro camera and use a Garmin Forerunner so I often have GPS data and video footage of rides. Prior to getting the iMagic I made up videos of my routes with music and used those on the turbo, altering the resistance manually (or using the gears) to simulate hills.

I've got the Kirkliston course installed on my laptop now and will give it a go this evening.

I had a go at the Kirkliston TT course this evening. Did it in 27:57 with an average HR of 149. No idea whether I could get close to that for real though!

Garmin HR data is here: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/66334999
The power, speed and cadence data is what was recorded in the iMagic.

Quite enjoyed it - nice little workout!
