Hi, I don't really want to start a debate on using your I-pod MP3 whilst cycling as some people do and some people don't I'm not after opening that can o worms.
I want to know if you use music to motivate your training what you are listening to, do you find that mixes for running work ie "running trax 2" ? Do you find that a higher bpm on tracks help to push you along?

This is probably one of my favourite songs to listen to when I ride my bicycle into town.

When I'm on the turbo trainer I find a bit of Rage Against The Machine on the ipod shuffle hits the spot. I easily lose focus if something slow or less upbeat comes on.0

At mo I am ahem downloadin' enough - mainly dance tracks - to mix for my Spin classes. 45 minute mixes and I like to keep them topical and I have a low boredom threshold when it comes to modern music but it does what it says on the can and helps.
Music is important for the motivation here
Quality guitar stuff is preferred b ut supply is limited these modern times.
Mostly the bpm is between 110 and 150 - dont need anything more manic than that.
When I set climbing challenges I like to keep the tempo high.
This tho' ,

I have to resist to put on every mix as the pretend hills beckon... it is very beguiling.0 -
I've said this elsewhere.
Watch Quesion Time if you have a TV - enough to make your blood boil.
Just stamp it out of your system on the pedals.0 -

Squarepusher, very nasty drum & bass. Works for me.
