The official page
Plan is meet around 10-10.30 am ready to ride for 11am at The FODCA trail, Forest of Dean.
On Sunday 20th February. we shall then do however many laps of the place and drink coffee and eat cake at regular intervals along with a bit of chat. Nice gentle ride, nothing too strenuous, just a good old fashioned meet up
I'm not familiar with the place so if someone would like to suggest a rendezvous point then please let me know, as I don't have a clue.
Err thats about it really, give us a resounding "Yes Paul" if you are atending or planning to attend and I'll put your name on the list

hmmmm looks like we may have hit a snag, the following is taken from the Forest of Dean website
From the 28th January some of the downhill and Cross Country trails will be out of use due to forest operations until further notice. The only downhills that currently remain open are: The Ski Run and the Corkscrew. ALL OTHERS ARE CLOSED. For your own safety, please do not use until fully open.
Does that mean that the FOdca trail is shut, or bits of it or what, I've emailed them to get a firm answer though0 -

I'm meant to be going up to the Forest of Dean this weekend with some family for a bit of biking, shame it didnt end up being the same weekend you lot are up there!
Keep us updated on whats open and whats closed, I've never been before so would be nice to know how much is closed etc...0 -

If you're going up there this weekend you can have a look and tell us what trails are open0 -
Forest Of Dean is miles away! I vote... Dalby Forest one weekend then I can get out and play. Or Somewhere around the High Peaks.
Is there ever a Yorkshire baed Crudites meet?0 -

Yorkshire doesn't exist! It's a mythical place inhabbited by small furry creatures, similar to hobbits...0 -

I've done the 'family' ride with Mrs C. last year (Oooh Er Matron!). It's basically a 10 mile loop on what used to be a railway line. I remember thinking at the time that I'd like to have a serious blast on the CX bike around it. Only one section that could be even remotely considered Gnarcore - a couple of fire-road type switchbacks. Most of the trail is pretty smooth fire-road type surface, no big climbs. Nice for a family ride, but a bit boring if you're looking for a challenge. I'f you've got the back issue of MBUK where they're racing against a dog-sledge type thing, that was done on this route.
Also, I was sadly disappointed with the cheese on toast from the cafe, especially when compared to the cheese-on-brick that's obtainable from Glyncorwyg...0 -

I think so, but I'm not that familiar with the trails there, only been the once.0
