The odd bit of fishing, learning the guitar...very slowly. Play the drums which been doing since I was knee high etc. Just starting off down the photography road, picked up a nice new camera a week ago so lots to learn. I like having a variety of interests, keeps the brain and body active0

Shooting (air guns).
Radio control cars and motorcycles.
Slot cars.
Model rail.
None of the above in any serious fashion, I don't belong to clubs or anything but they are all hobbies I dip in and out of. I am considering getting a radio control yacht in kit form.0 -
Kayaking.... It used to be my sport in my youth (many moons ago) and I was in the GB team for sprint and marathon racing. I still potter at it but only do it for pleasure now. No more 3 to 4 hour a day training now
Having said that... I took up cycling in the last year I just have to go out and either increase the distance I ride, or try for a faster average speed.. or some other improvement. The competetive spirit is still there.“You may think that; I couldn’t possibly comment!”

Which band?
Not one you'd have heard of most probably! We were called Dakota. Doing "ok" meant securing a record & management deal & playing decent gigs with some good bands. We were lumped in with the Britpop thing even though we sounded nowt like. We were gobby Northerners but had an American sound...Sonic Youth, Pixies Afghan Whigs etc. Got played on the wireless abit & some good(& bad) reviews in the music comics.
Had 2 record companies wanting us to sign but it got "too much" for our singist. He was never brimming with confidence anyway & at the point he had to put it all on the line he bottled it. Kinda fizzled out after that. Happy days nonetheless.0 -

I used to have lots of other interests before I got properly into cycling...
Inline skating, hillwalking/scrambling/wild camping, reading (novels, science, history, SF), various natural history stuff, a bit of photography.
Still occasionally some drinking, although these days I only seem to get around to doing it properly about 3 or 4 times a year...0 -
Classic car racing and preparation - it's why I cycle (staying fit and losing weight), though I love cycling in itself.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0
