Suspension set-up

Last year i purchased a scott spark 35 which has a dt swiss m210 rear shock. today i tried to put some more air in to increase the compression on the shock but i didn't connect the pump properly and some of the air came out. now no matter how much air i put into it it is still soft. The book recommends 150psi for my weight but i have put in up to 250psi and i still have more than 5mm of sag. can anyone suggest what i might have done wrong as the suspension was much harder before.
would really appreciate any ideas people might have

so how much sag are you getting? in % please.
what are you using to add the air?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

with 150psi i'd say i am getting almost 50% sag.
i am using a top peak mini suspension pump which goes up to 300psi0 -
What about at 250psi?0

this morning i put in 250psi with 17clicks of rebound and when i sit on the bike the suspension is compressing 50% of the travel and I only weigh 85kgs.0

You need about 9mm travel for a 25% sag on that shock.
5mm of travel will only give you 13% sagNow where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"0 -
at the moment with 250psi and 17 clicks of rebound i am getting about 15mm of sag when i sit on the bike. I'm wondering if something has broken in the shock.0
