I was hoping to do the dragon ride this year but it's full already! My years goals are ruined before it even began0

That's it really - need to get the weight off me that endless days in hospital have added but the commuting will help sort that.
Oh, and if you're in the mood - +1 for details of that race car, I have a past that involves track days"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -

And finish the Etape Caledonia, preferably whilst the roads are still closed.
I was worried about not finishing Etape before sweep up bus, but the other just sweep you along...... However, you need to put in the miles before it!!
That is more than enough time!! Last year I did not cycle till February due to injury - had done nowt for 2 months and had piled on the weight. I was incredibly unfit and had not cycled more than 40 miles in a day before, but with riding every day and increasing distances managed to get the Etape in 4hr32. It really is a mental thing and depends on how much time you are able to put in. I have been lucky and had the time, hope I do this year too!"Encyclopaedia is a fetish for very small bicycles"0 -
nice and simple for me having only just taken delivery of my new bike, so:
1. Work up to commuting 5 days
2. lose weight
3. learn to use these new fangeled SPD pedals0 -

I wonder whether we should do a thread to bring out all the hidden car people on here...!
But for starters here's my old steed, 'slicked up' down at Brands Hatch a few years ago

Oooh - sorry - been distracted today and missed this thread.
Firstly thanks for all the kind thoughts about my son. Staying positive and he has been bloody fantastic - can't tell you how proud I am of him. I'm sure we'll be fine but support from people just gives me so much strength & determination. Thank you!
