107 miles at 19.3 average with the equivalent climbs of 1.5 Alpe'D Huez puts you firmly in upper 2nd cat/lower 1st cat territory.0

I think one of next year's targets is going to be 100 solo Devonian miles at 20mph - OK, it's not going to win me the Tour of Britain, but it's a nice round figure, and I think it's achievable.)
It's taken me more than four years, to the wrong side of 50, and to France to do it, but yesterday that nut was cracked. No Strava or Garmin, so you'll just have to take my word for it, but 104 miles at 20mph on the nose. I didn't start by aiming for it, and only looked at average speed as I got home. So it was sort of by accident.
I've given up on the hope of doing it in Devon. Too many lumps for an old git.0 -
i've still not done 100 miles.--
Burls Ti Tourer for Tarmac, Saracen aluminium full suss for trails0 -
Well done Brian.
I always think think that 20mph or evens as it's known is a nice little target to aim at. When I first started tt'ing,it was to break 30 mins for a 10. Then ride a 100 in training, then ride a 100 in evens. Then when I did a 12 hour, I happened to finish on 240 miles, evens! The time after that 239 and I was gutted, just missed the magic number. In my last 12 even though 240 wasn't a target, all I kept on calculating is when I'd 'break even'
So nice thread resurrection and well done again0 -

Two BTWs - I still don't do things scientifically, just mixed riding; and this is the route: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/10157801
And a last 'incidentally' - there are one or two old BR faces I miss, rereading the thread... I'll admit I always did enjoy P_Tucker's put-downs.0
