What Instruments Do You Play?

Again, there is a lot of musical knowledge on here so what do you / have you played? I used to be in a brass band, played in national championships, started on cornet before being moved onto Baritone and then E flat bass as they struggled to find something I could actually play before I finally gave it up.

I can play guitar and bass (can't see what the problem is with Eb, it's just 1st string 4th fret on a 5 string ). For both instruments, the enjoyment and satisfaction I get outweighs my ability to an absurd degree.0

I play an acoustic guitar, badly, and sing along too sometimes. I play just for my own amusement and de-stressing.
I find playing music therapeutic in a way that's similar to riding a bike, it just clears your mind.
Mrs Tuxedo and the little 'un don't find it quite so pleasing.... :roll:0 -

I guess that my name and avatar give the game away.
Actually, I'll play any brass instrument, though I find the tuba's embouchure more challenging, as I'm more often playing lead trumpet in big bands. I did once play the tuba in a concert though - in the slow movement of Dvorak's 9th Symphony ... better know as the Hovis advert music.0 -
Tuba and Sax - still got a Corton Tenor languishing in the loft somewhere.0

I play electric guitar, classical guitar and bass guitar.......play all of them to a reasonable standard as I teach for a living! Also finishing off a masters degree in musicology at the moment :?0

The pink oboe
Or the rusty trombone
Only joking BTW - just couldn't resist itROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0 -
I play the violin. Well, let me put that another way. I attempt to play the violin. I'm pretty sad at it but enjoy the challenge. :oops:0

I used to play the snare drum in a bugle band. I was asked to jion a marching band, but told them to sod off 'cos they were all w@nkers. In hindsight I'd have liked to have played in a pipe band.
Was forced to play the spoons in Ireland - I was crap at it.A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject - Churchill0 -
Guitar but would say playiong would be bigging up my capabilities
more od a destress thing ( until I have to try F) then my inability really shines through0 -

Bass guitar (though "play with" is probably more accurate than "play")0

Started off playing piano as Mother forced me...I mean encouraged me but lost interest once I went off "to sea". A bit difficult carrying a piano around the world. Took up guitar instead and went through the whole folk music scene. Not played in many years though, the guitar languishes in the garage loft!!2 Wheels or not 2 wheels..That is not in question.0

Electric/acoustic guitar, astonishingly badly.
When I have time/money/space, I want to get a bass and a keyboard as well.0 -
I just wish I found playing guitar as easy as riding a bike!0

Bass guitar. Badly.0

I learnt to play trumpet in my yoof, but have not picked one up for 20ish years. Perhaps it no longer counts.
Currently learning bass guitar (very slowly)0 -

You say that, but I've never fallen off my guitar yet!0 -
I play a double bass. I play at the local Arts Centre every Wednesday evening with like-minded people.
There's a big orchestra that plays in the room next to ours. When everyone turns up, our group can
comprise of 4 double basses, 3 cellos, 1 viola, 6 violins and a piano. The orchestra next door is
(im)patiently waiting for one of the bass players to migrate to them.0 -
i play drums, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, piano and a bit of bass.
i have far too many instruments at home now!0 -
