I had a quick search but couldnt find specifically what i was after.
I've been turbo training for a few months now since its gone dark after work but I'm starting to question my training routines.
At the moment I'm doing about 35-45 minutes 4 or 5 times a week. The routines are random each day (i dont have a fixed schedule or anything).
I'm doing things such as HR zoned short interval training, the infamous 2x20mins in zone4 etc but i'm not doing any long sessions just in zone3 or lower, building up 'base miles' - is this beneficial?
I'm also not paying 'too' much attention to the exact gear i'm in each time, i'm purely working off HR at the mo.
Are there any good routines i could adopt? I have everything except a powermeter btw...
Thanks all

There's some interesting stuff about base miles here http://www.bikeradar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12746964
As for routines... http://www.thesufferfest.com/0 -
I now have a coach for this very reason. I didn't really have a clue what I was meant to be doing so it all felt a bit random. This makes it difficult to feel you're actually doing anything beneficial and therefore difficult to keep up.
FWIW I do have some longer sessions in my plan. On Sunday I have 2x1.5 hr sessions in Z1/Z2. I'd go out and do this as a single 3 hour session if there wasn't so much snow around.Scottish and British...and a bit French0
