    I think it's totally appropriate.

The sport seems destined to never clean up it's act ......

Just as a leopard can not change it's spots.

Ok, how about the amazing 'bunker sport' Siamese twins, they had eleven kids between them, shared a bed of four the Bunker Twins plus the Yates sisters and the twins died within three hours of each other at the age of 63!!

My Choice would be Bunker Sport. :D check this... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chang_and_Eng_Bunker

I was thinking they were going to do a Superio Mario Dominia Vacanze with leopard spots rather than tiger stripes, a bit Bet Lynch stylee?

It would probably go quite well with their pre-season spray-on orange tans and open up a whole new market for replica kit?
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • I can reveal that 'Team Leopard' will actually be called.....

    As Ax Knob

...well it is a rehash of 'Saxo Bank' isn't it?

Isn't that the kind of thing you go to Tanzania for?!

Team Presentation is tonight at 7pm. Shame about the Trek - an opportunity for a class kit will be ruined with the eyesore bikes and the Trek logo on the front (assuming the logo will be on the kit, was originally going to be bare).

When Bertie used to ride a Trek, did his general fantasticness offset the eyesoreness of the bikes?

Yes of course and it helped that he had designs on his bike. I have said a couple of times before that it would be good to see Contador ride in Saxo kit and bike for a photo persepective. Likewise for Cancellara if they had the black and white scheme.

It does for photos. Maybe not to you, but why would I care about that?

It'll be fun spotting them from the saxo guys.

Presumably we'll be able to tell because the saxo bank guys will be in the group miles behind.

    Black, white and blue.

Same as Sky, same as Garmin-Cervelo.

The peloton is gonna look a bit boring this year.

    The Bo(u)rgs

With a cool Tron style kit
    What wheels...? Wheelsmith.co.uk!
  • For anyone who might be remotely interested, the team presentation is live here:
    http://sport.rtl.lu/cyclissem/news//91063.html

    at 7pm.

Trek stepping up to co-sponsor at the top level.
A long term business plan that involves jumping ship, or maybe the first step to another full blown US sponsored PT team?
    Who knows???

That's not a bad kit, but not a great kit either.

Team presentation is on now. There'll all suited and booted and weirdly wearing scarves too. They look like city lawyers popping out for a lunchtime sandwich at Pret.

Leopard Trek sounds like something students do in their gap year.

Am alone in thinking this is all going to end in tears?

39teeth just tweeted that one of their sponsors bailed out a while ago which in part accounts for the sparse jersey.

    But yes, it feels "odd"

And yes I too get the feeling it doesn't seem too stable a set up.
