Cant belive Matt won.

Im not being biased or nothing but she was easy the best artist on the show from the start!

Just wandering if they relegate the best artists to 2nd place for the sake of marketing the weeker one's?

For example SuBo coming second in Britain Got Tallent! she should have won that hands down.

Im sure like Subo, Rebecca will get a deal and become sucsessfull.

Can't believe I'm replying to this. The mrs has a lot to answer for.

Are you actually suggesting that the show that has spontaneously changed the voting rules 3 times in this one series could possibly be fixed.

Thank god it's over for another year.

I have to admit I'm kinda disappointed. Between Wikileaks and tuition fees I thought we might be on the cusp of a revolution. Now it doesn't look like it's going to happen, and I was really, really looking forward to getting Cowell in front of a firing squad too.

The only name I recognise on this thread is Cowell. But putting him in front of a firing squad seems unfair on the people who have to pull the trigger. Can't we just hang him by his trousers until he disappears?

Why have a go at Cowell? He is a supreme business man who didn't underestimate the public. He gives people a shot at fame and the audience that spectacle and he collects the spoils. He just provides a service.

What on earth do you expect? An honest competition? This type of reality tripe has just one thing intended, to make as much money as possible for that bloody Cowell bloke, as well as exploiting people as much as he can and give false hope for the ones that don't 'make it'.

    Of course it's fixed!
  • if rebeca had won i think would have been 3 'black diva' winners in a row and you wouldnt want the show getting predictable would you, of course its a fix
  • Next you'll be telling me that The Apprentice isn't actually a job interview
  • Face-bothered! :D

    Two words........ Voting Public.

    Quoting the BBC:
"According to figures released by ITV, 15.4m votes were cast during the 10-week series.

Cardle scored the most votes every week, apart from the first week when supermarket worker Mary Byrne came top."

If that's the case, why's it so suprising that he won ?

What you're forgetting is that the show isn't just looking for someone with the best voice, it's looking for a marketable individual who appeals to the voting public. Dare I say it, someone with the X-Factor. As good a singer and as nice a person as Rebecca Ferguson may have been, she was a really dull performer.

Living in a house where the other occupants are 3 girls in their early 20s, i think its obvious that Matt had enough fans to win from day one!

No the show is there to make cash. Anything made beyond the show is a bonus. Not 'looking for the best performer'. It's getting as much people to watch and believe (to improve loyalty) in the X Factor process.

i'd rate it alongside jeremy kyle, loose women, gok wan, anything with the ass an dik twins, strictly ballbag, coronation street, eastenders etc etc etc.
i'd rate all the above as premier league poo strap.
feel free to add to my list if you like

i'm going for a lie down now.

A karaoke competition is all it is.

Reality TV is dog sh1te, I won't watch Jungle, Ice, Dancing, Singing or Brother. Or Fishmonger Of The Year either!

Yup agree with all of that.......I did watch the final last night though-Harry Styles out of that boy band went to the school that I teach at.......not really watched the series, but wanted to watch this weekend to see how he/the group got on.

Didn't really enjoy any of the programmes over the weekend.....they could have done it all in an hour imo....far too much repetition of the performances etc Certainly wont watch again.....unless I happen to know a finalist again!

    I like your style.

Are you available for a chat about a few ideas with me and another exec from Endemol? Let's say somewhere on Charlotte Street, friday? I'll bring the happy powder.

    Can't wait.
  • Here are the voting figures.

I think you need to look at the OPs location and perhaps it is more a case of bias by them?

This is the first X Factor I've watched much of, originally as my elder daughter had got into it and then because I felt that there were two genuinely good artists (the fact they came first and second gave me renewed faith in my fellow humans!). I think Matt has the makings of a genuine singer / songwriter if he's given the opportunity. Rebecca's voice was something a bit different. It still never ceases to amaze me the number of people who come on threads like this to protest how much they hate the X Factor - closet fans I reckon!
