Teaching Chav's a lesson.....too far?

Recently I was on the warm down of a TT training ride about 2-3 miles from home. I was riding on a dual carriage way when I saw about 6 chav scum types hanging around in the road up ahead, my roady sense started tingling knowing they were going to try something so I prepared for the worst, as I got closer one of the said chavs started to run in my direction forcing me to move into the middle of the road (luckily it was a quiet time of day), so as the chav scum got within 2-3 feet of me...what I had prepared earlier when I saw the group was a mouthful of post time trail flem in my mouth and as the scum lunged for me I surprised him with the said contents in my mouth on to the chavs face, as you can expect the chav was extremely shocked and as I swiftly sprinted off still with my pride and joy he was left with a face full of...well a face full of a good lesson!

now for my disclaimer; I do not agree with spitting on people as I think it is absolutely disgusting and tbh I was a bit ashamed of myself for doing so but in an almost exactly same situation about 2 years earlier I had my pride and joy robbed off of me and received a pretty severe beating, so this time round I saw it as a form of revenge and wasn't willing to let the same thing happen again.

prevention is the best form of defence!

Although I wouldn't condone spitting at any normal human, if this knob ran at you then no need to justify your actions because of being robbed previously IMHO

  • I did think that, was a bit worried about any revenge attacks or worse the said chavs attacking a different cyclist because of my actions. it sure did get me thinking but at the time I didn't think much about my actions...was just angry that this bottom of the barrel excuse for a human wanted to take my bike off of me, Still not sure whether it was the right or wrong thing to do....

I think if you're under attack, pretty much all is fair in love and war.

If the country is attacked, we'd pretty much defend with all means available. Don't see why protecting your own goods and or property is any different if your actions are defensive.
As for another cyclist paying for your actions...it could happen but equally likely is that you've sown a seed of doubt in the mind of the scrote.
Unfortunately you feel guilty about your response which doesn't sit comfortably with your sense of decency. Wtf are you supposed to do when someone attacks you? Rational thought will be thin on the ground in such circumstances.[/url]
  • You did good. Where was this?

Yes Yes Yes! ! This is excellent! Any revenge on chavs is great news. :D
  • Ah I can breathe a little easier knowing that I wasn't too badly in the wrong acting the way I did. It was in a rather chav ridden place just outside Wolverhampton city centre in the West Midlands. Wish you were here :?, to be fair though because I was TT training I was on the rough side of Wolverhampton (it has lots of lovely flat dual carriage ways) but the other side of Wolverhampton (out towards Ludlow/Shrewsbury/Telford) has some amazing rural riding...with no chavs!!!! :D.
  • You had energy drink I hope? It gives a good consistency I find.

The key words to remember are " I had an honest belief that I was about to be attacked by the gentleman in the back-to-front burberry cap and I reacted with what I perceived to be minimal force"

No we have chav's here too, unfortunately they are everywhere.

Seems like quite an intelligent and measured response to a dangerous situation to me!

...and possibly the chav will now be spending the next few weeks worrying in case he has contracted any life threatening disease from your deposit (no offence intended)
which might make him think twice next time.

    You've cheered me up! :D

    Great shooting Tex!
  • If a bear attacks you one escape method is to soil yourself and throw it at them - spitting at chavs is just a less extreme version.

Did you not consider how the bits highlighted may contradict each other?

  • that is pretty awesome, the greeny maybe a bit too far unless he was actually going to try and rob you, i would just give him a squirt with my bidon

I went to school on the Finchfield side of Wolverhampton and that side is absolutely fine (commuted to school for about 4 years with no incidents), take it your going to Highfields?, I went to Smestow...there are chavs round there but there definitely all bark and no bite!!. The incident in question happened on the Bushbury / Fallings park side of Wolverhampton (much Much Worse!!).

Happy Commuting and beginning to a long lived cycling life!! :D
  • Theomerchant, good on you sir! You used minimal force to protect yourself and your property.

I don't think that chav wanted to pat you on the back and reward you for a great training sessions. That tw@t wanted you to give him your bike or at least for you to fall off of it

"Proportional force" is a phrase chucked about. I think you would have got away with hitting the little sh#t. The gob was genius. The kid got exactly what he deserved.
