Whats the best cycling vid anyone has come across to watch whilst on trainer/rollers? do you prefer documentary type, virtual racing or racing footage?

interesting! are these riders eye view all the way through the video, the trailers don't seem to explain very well?

It's a mix between a riders eye view and pro race footage.

I've done Angels a couple of times so far and I think it's brilliant. I bought The Hunted earlier this week and will do it at the weekend.

    Well worth the money IMHO.

They are clips of pro races, mostly motorbike views but some others too. The footage is great. Angels is the best IMO.

Have only trained with Angels and Fight Club so far and think they are both great and like the differences in the intervals. Soundtrack on Angels is awesome though and have already downloaded some of the tunes onto the ipod.

If that works for you that's fine but I find myself getting distracted by the footage and my effort gets influenced by the song I'm listening to.

Having said that I have got someone to help with a training plan for the winter starting tomorrow. That might mean the Sufferfest gets the boot in favour of a more tailored routine.

IMHO the sufferfest vids are a simple enough concept - ie race footage in the main, but they are worth the fairly small outlay and I was a fairly sceptical person pre-purchase :
are organised such that the various effort intervals accompany a relevant piece of race footage, ie steady state might be a TT or a steady climb, then higher, short intervals are riders attacking. Plus there is a simple timer that appears on the minute (that's what happens on The Hunted) and the on-screen graphics are relevant but not too distracting.
I did the full Hunted session (60 minutes all in) and I really didn't feel like the time dragged as it normally would, sure you want the minutes to pass quicker than they do but that is more the desire to get relief from the physical effort than the dull turbo-session type thing.
I will be purchasing more and I will still use the one I have bought so far for subsequent sessions over the next weeks and months.

Had a crack at angels tonight and here are a few thoughts. 15 hours download, is this a record! Bit of a phaff unzipping etc but then just a few minutes to put on a key and download to my den computer. Ran no probs. A really good hard work out. I enjoyed it but I never get my pulse up that high in winter so I'm going to ration it a bit. I could never push myself that hard without the prompts.

Wow... 15 hours. That sounds like a slow connection? I also downloaded it yesterday and it took me around 40 minutes as far as I remember (Virgin 10Mb connection). I burnt a DVD that will play in mpeg4 format on my blu-ray player. Haven't had chance to use it today as a I actually got out on the road yesterday. Shoulld be having a go today though.

I've got Angels and The Hunted. Music on Angels is better and some now sits on my Spotify playlist. Reading the site, The Hunted was supposed to be easier but for me it hurts more, the no rest 20 min "climb" is tough and the last 5 mins is truly evil!

I know it's daft but the video and the prompting does make me work harder than I otherwise would so for £7 you can't go wrong.

Once downloaded I have to convert the .mp4 file to DVD format which takes about 4 hours then burn it onto DVD so it will work in a basic portable player.

I'm going to go for The Downward Spiral next.

You can download codexes that allow Windows Media Player to play MP4s.
I Googled for this and found a site that linked to 2 codex that did the job. Think it depends on the version of Windows and Win MP s to whether it plays the file without needing to do this or not.

I'm not sure if the original link can be suspended and then restarted but you have 30 days in which you can email them and they will send you a new link if necessary.
Also, I see they recommend using a program called Speedbit
http://www.speedbit.com/ if you have a slow connection.

I've no idea if Speedbit works well or not never having used it.
