Got mine this morning.
Very easy to assemble. I liked the way the legs folded out/in. Grate for storeage.
Swaped my quick release for the supplied cycleops one. Easy.
Mounted bike in the Turbo. Easy.
Jumped on for a quick test spin.
If im honest first impressions where "there isnt enough resistance", "oh no what a waste of money"
Later on when i got home i got my Bibs, HR Monitor & Cycling Shoes on, started Angles Suffer Fest Video, and did the workout.
WOW! I was sweating good style. And there is enough resistance!
I averaged 17.3mph over 60 mins. If i got off the power curve chart that came with the trainer thats about 200watts.
Very happy with the quality of the workout.
Only negitive thing i can say about it is, that its realy noisey!
I had to put my bin lids (head phones) on and listen to the music that way, because the noise of the turbo is realy 'off putting'.
Only other way was to realy turn the HiFI up, and i didnt want to disturb my neighbours. The noise of the turbo might have disturbed them anyway. (i live in a 25 story building (flat)
Next time (tomoz) im gonna put the David Guetta album on and just watch the suffer fest vid, because its easyier that way.
Also didnt realy wanna get out of the saddle for fear of damageing the bike.
Going to have to get a sweat thong for the bike, because there was lots of sweat.
The Jet Fluid Pro does give you a good work out. Just a shame its a bit noiesy.

They all sound different depending on the surface they are used on.Wood floors amplify the noise more than others.Try one of those rubber mats they sell to deaden the noise maybe?0
-
cheap camping sleep/roll mat will deaden the noise few quid from outdoors shop.

Dont you get a bit sweaty with that wrapped around yer 'ead?0 -
Mine is on a wooden floor, i use the rubber mat it was supplied with.
The tyre is Gator Skin Hard Shell. The noise definity comes from the unit.
Its not Mega loud, but its enough to put me off.
The more i use it the more ill get used to it i reacon.
If i wanted to deaded the noise id have to turn my HiFi up pritty high!
Problem with that is, i would definity dusturb the neighbours then.
Just gonna use my head phones & ipod.
Not in the mood tonight, but gonna use it tomoz.
CHRISNOIR: when you've set your's up and used it, let us know what you think about it. (noise etc)0 -
One thing people need to realise is 'quiet' is relative... I find the fluid pro quiet compared to others I've used...0
-
Well i will find out myself tomorrow as i`m taking the plunge.0
-
A turbo-specific tyre will probably reduce the noise a bit - there is bound to be some noise due to the tryre running on the roller.0

Will do, yeah. I've got an old rear wheel I'm going to fit with a tubo tyre and I ordered the mat as well so should be interesting.
Unfortunately the Missus is a bit traditional and I'm not allowed my present until the 25th. Women just don't understand.0 -

You think that's bad. I've had mine since the beginning of November when my wife bought it as it was on special offer.
Twice a week ever since, when she is doing her Samaritans thing, I take it from under the bed, assemble it, take it out into the garage, do an hour on it, disassemble it, put it back in its box and under the bed until next time!
All so I have something to open on Christmas day. The one day I won't be able to use it as we're staying with friends!Basso Astra

Update from me:
2nd session tonight. 1 hour. The Hunted Suffer Fest Vid.
Didnt use the head phone's this time. Turned the HiFi up to acceptable level, played the Video and did the workout.
It only seemed to get noisey when i was doing 25mph+.
At around 18/20mph the noise is acceptable.
BTW. I prefer the The Hunted Suffer Fest video to Angels. Seems a bit easyier. Simpler. Angles is probaly a more difficult work out IMO.
Probaly do the same workout tomoz, if not it'll be sunday.
Incidently. I weighed myself on the Tanita Body Mass Scales before results where:
Weight: 14st 4.5lb
Body Fat: 19.1%
Muscle Mass: 11st
lets see what it is in 1 week.0 -

Mine is pretty noisy.
Watch out for the bolt that holds the resistance unit to the body, when I first got mine it was slightly loose and the resistance unit shook around a bit when under load.
This just made it even noisier, it sounded like it was shaking apart.0 -
CarbonCopy:
Got it from John Lewis £80.00 Its The BC-543
I wasnt sure about the Tanita at first. Was thinking it might be a big con at one stage.
But after using it for 9 months and keeping track of my stats im thinking it was worth it.
Example:
18th November @ 10:20pm:
Weight:14st 5.4lb
Body Fat: 20%
Visceral Fat: 6
BMR Age: 30
Muscle Mass: 10st 13.2lb
Body Water: 55.2%
Then i improved my diet & started doing more exercise. result was. . .
10th December @ 9:20pm
Weight:14st 4.2lb
Body Fat: 19.1%
Visceral Fat: 5
BMR Age: 28
Muscle Mass: 11st
Body Water: 56%
As you can see i lost 1.2lb of weight. (good)
Reduced Body Fat by 0.9%. (good)
Reduced Visceral Fat to 5. (good)
Reducerd BMR age to 28. (good)
Increased Muscle by 0.8lb (good)
I think the readings it gives are good enough for what i use it for.
(basing this opinion on comparing 9 differant weigh in's since April this year)
Im trying to reduce my body fat at the moment and trying to start training again & cutting out Fats & Sugars.
Ill be keeping track of my weight each week. So it will be interesting to see the results.
BTW. you have to weigh yourself at the same time of day, to keep the readings consistant.
I TRY to do mine BEFORE dinner around 5-6pm (after work)0 -
Interesting stuff that Karl.I`m pretty much doing the samething trying to reduce fat etc.I have had the gym instructor testing mine once a month.i would like to have a tanita though. thanks for info0
