Is anyone getting mail yet?

I'm expecting 6 parcels, all of which were posted before the snow. One of them Royal Mail attempted to deliver on the 30th November. I've stopped off at the sorting office most days on my way to work and not only have none of the other parcels shown up yet, but the parcel they attempted to deliver hasn't even got back to the sorting office yet.

Even making allowances for the weather, this is surely pathetic.

I've been getting mail and packages without any delays the entire time.

Do you live in Scotland or something?

I live in Derby, DE1 not some village on the outskirts, haven't had any mail since it snowed, been waiting for a package posted on 22nd of November from Parcelforce, absolutely fucking useless.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

I do, and we have two feet of snow and our road is down to one set of deep furrows bottomed out with a thick layer of ice.

Been getting mail every day (including parcels).

However, haven't seen the milkman for a fortnight!!

I have received mail and packages from cycle retailers in the last few days...Unfortunately one of the major cycle online retailers uses parcel force, who have had the package since 01 Dec.
I am less than impressed and even though it is not the fault of the supplier, this lack of delivery has tainted the whole transaction.....I will go out to my LBS for a few other parts.

I live in North East Scotland and have similar amounts of snow. No problem with mail.
I haven't seen the milkman for about 40 years.

With most of the airports suffering then you must cut Royal Mail some slack. With people posting stuff the offices must be bursting if they can't despatch. 8)

Surely that is the job they are paid to do?

If the roads are clear and independent couriers used by other retailers are able to deliver, then surely it shouldn't take Parcelforce many more days to deliver than other suppliers?

Note, I did mention clear roads, royal mail and parcel force are simply not out on the roads delivering in this area.....Is there some health and safety regulation where they don't come out unless the weather conditions are suitable to wear badly fitting shorts???

White van, white jacket & carrying milk in the snow - perfect camouflage
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

Similar in our corner of Scotland: except the milkman has been getting through, but no mail.

Just had my first delivery since the 29th.
Apparently the posties wanted to deliver but the bosses wouldn't let them due to health and safety issues... wrong kind of footwear! If Mr Postie hasn't been issued with the right footwear and falls over on his round, the Royal Mail will get a personal injury claim and have to pay for time off sick.
    I blame the USA!

Hopefully someone awaiting delivery will go "postal" at one of the depots with an AK 47.

I guess it depends as much on where it is coming from as where it is going.

Might be snow free where you live, but if it's 3 feet deep where the sender is ()or where the parcel got stuck when the snow hit), then it's gonna take time.

Backlog seems to get cleared first, and so on.

But I feel your pain. No one likes waiting for 'goodies'.

Correction: the milkman has just been and left me a whole week's supply (to complement all the replacement milk I bought yesterday from Tescopoly)

He did a chap and run (doorbell went and by the time I got there, all I could see was the tail lights slithering up the road) but he did leave me a nice Christmas card on top of the milk! :D

Now then: hot chocolate, rice pudding, custard, compulsory cereal . . . .

the irony is, I don't even like the stuff; I buy it for the other Pneumatics!!

I've had stuff from Tredz and Prendas the day after posting this week, but a birthday card from Yorkshire did take 5 days - north/south divide?

Order from PBK took just over a week from dispatch note to reach here; They're up in Kendal, so kind of understandable IMHO.

Well one of my parcels was dispatched on the 26th November. I think it was probably this one that they attempted to deliver on the 30th November, but it still hasn't found its way back to the sorting office. That's getting on for 2 weeks since it was posted. I'm afraid that even after making allowances for the weather, that is a f@cking joke.

I believe they are located somewhere between Kendal and Windermere off the Crook road. The roads in Kendal and the main routes out are all clear.

Parcelforce have been collecting from the company I work for in Tebay, and we haven't had many problems with these consignments not being delivered.

The Comic arrived yesterday. Last week's Comic

OK so there was a bit of snow here in Surrey last week. I've been managing to drive to work every day for a week now. How come our Postie hasn't managed to sort his life out yet? I'm still waiting for half a dozen packages (no, not all bike stuff!) sent at the end of November.

Well my parcel is now officially lost - it's only 5 feet by 3 so understandable how that could disappear :x Apparently the sender has 30 days from posting to claim - nevermind the fact it's taken them 18 days to admit they have no idea where it is.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.
