Cannock condition

I hacked out a few miles round the blue route with a few variations yesterday dead early. Conditions were fantastic. Dry, solid and no ice problems. Views were amazing and stacks of deer in the early morning.
If you do not limit yourself to dog/monkey there is plenty of greast riding to be had this time of year.....0 -
Forgot to say props to the bloke on the unicycle on Tacks Blast 8)0

6 hrs up there yesterday, muddy, saw 100 deer.
Watch out for a clothes thief though as i got all my change of clothes stolen and trainers from my car, left the car radio and cds. Very weird!

anyone been up today, has the rain managed to get rid of the snow much?Giant Trance X4 20100

went up today. the snow has gone and the mud was thick and claggy, real leg burner.
Only went round Brockton and sprigslade area though. no idea what dog and monkey are like.0 -
Went round the Monkey and the Dog today.
Fireroads still a bit icy in places but Monkey was clear if a bit muddy where snow has melted. Dog was a nightmare near the end. Can only see it getting worse with traffic over the next few days.
Solution = just ride the Monkey again and again. Love it!Be One Carbon Raw

You were right Mart. Oh dear, what a mess !Deep deep, mud for most of the dog and monkey today, its like wet concrete in a lot of places and is very hard going.I think it s gonna be a long time and take a lot of work to get it back to how it was.Roll on spring!0

Leave the 2nd half of the dog alone and stay on the monkey trail. Great training for the legs on the ups and good for the skills on the downs!Be One Carbon Raw

think I'll stay on the fire roads just to keep my legs going and get around, having a lot of sh*t with my rear hub too. if monkeys clearish might give it a whirl. don't think my mates done it yet so should be fun. lol!Giant Trance X4 20100

i am supposed to be going cannock tommorow for the first time, would you say it is worth going or is it worth holding out till the conditions improve?0
-
Ten of us went to Cannock on Thursday, never seen anything like it. I felt like I did after I`d done the Hell of the North Cotswolds and I`d only ridden ten miles, it was ten miles of riding thru wet cement though
I jumped on the road for the last few hundred yds, I would`nt bother going over. It`s royally fcuked________________

wow if it's that bad I'll give a miss and do a canal loop instead saves on fuel too I guess. bummer!Giant Trance X4 20100

Avoid this place. Went for the first time yesterday and it was absolutely awful. Going to have to strip my bike down now to get all the sand out of the drivetrain, bottom bracket and pivots. :x They should close the trail until it has dried out. It would be a great trail in dry conditions but this is not an all weather trail and I will not be visiting again unless we have a drought.0

I think it's great I started riding it march last year, bit slippy with all the pebbles but still great fun. when it's dried out I love it, still very Rideable in spring. come back feb march. you'll love it.Giant Trance X4 20100
