Last Tuesday, since then just a few trips on the MTB and some turbo, that ice seems to be hanging around and i have another dose of Labyrinthitis so i'm just going to listen to some suitable music to see if it helps.

Nov 23 was my last ride a 35 miler, looks like this will be my longest off the bike in nearly 5 yrs , 8 days back in Feb 2010 is the current longest break without a ride, the backroads have been solid ice for a week now, and ive skidded off the road in the car this week on black ice, luckily didnt hit anything but if you were out on a bike and a car lost it near you you,d have no chance so i,ll wait till it clears up a bit.hoping i can do 160 miles in Dec to hit my 4000 mile target for 2010.0

Today! I ain't got a choice - 20 mile commute to work.
Just takes longer and certainly sharpens your riding skill. Last rode my road bike over a week ago and now commuting to work on the MTB in the snow - until it thaws.0 -
Sun 28th; 22-miler on my singlespeed Kaffenback - it was positively Baltic!
Must've been minus a couple, road-salt everywhere, and we've not even had that much snow in S.Wales.
Rode the Wall at Afan on Friday with 4 mates and it was pumping down, horizontal, stinging snow, by 12 noon, riding mostly using the Force
40 mins on stationary bike in gym, today, sweating like Pavarotti in Klingfilm! If Wales was flattened out, it'd be bigger than England!

What I meant to say was,
"I rode to the Alps and back, today, in driving snow, then I had to give some French dude a backy from Briancon to Boulogne, and then I whacked the bike on a pedalo and pedalled the Channel. Back in Chester by dusk like. And I only set off at lunchtime"
or something along those lines0 -
Yesterday, had to turn back it was a blizzard and I could not see and was on the A34 in mcr.0

14th November.
Last out on the MTB on 23rd. Tried last Sunday but snow up beyond the BB and couldn't get going.
Reluctantly going to have to dig the turbo out of the garage if not tommorrow then over the week end
Walking the dogs in deep snow or walking anywhere for prolonged periods on ice is doing nothing for my legs or the small of my back.0 -
November 19th To much snow at the mo, and getting over a bad cough so turbo in the garage is out this week :?
Never mind, off to Oz for a month next week, it`s in the 30s and I`ve got a new bike lined up over there ready to roll Cue the "cyclists tan" in January 8)Jens says "Shut up legs !! "

Tuesday morning.
Northants hasn't had much snow but you come across the odd road with compacted snow and the odd bit of sheet ice, which has been fun on 25mm slicks.
The problem now is we're in for lots of sub zero days which means lots of ice and turns it into a matter of survival, so I'll probably avoid the roads for a week or so until the temperatures get above freezing.0 -

So much for the bravado, most side roads and cycleways around here are like glass, so it was the MTB again today for a few hours, nice to reacquaint myself with some of the summer's pre-roadbike routes looking totally different in the snow though
One thing, I was warm enough in SuperRoubaix bibs and my Buffalo, but using MT44 Shimano MTB shoes without cleats (flat pedals), even with thin socks plus SealSkinz socks my feet were like blocks of ice quite quickly2011 Bianchi D2 Cavaria in celeste (of course!)

A whole week ago! Walking is the stupidest, slowest way ever invented for getting from A to B, with or without snow and ice, and it's driving me mad!0
-
Weekend before last - after picking up my summer bike from the LBS after some upgrades & also collecting the new winter bike.
Too much snow & ice for me to get out but it wont last long - I hope.Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.0 -
Looks like a 3 hour recovery on the MTB tomorrow!0
