    Best: Beating my target time of 4 hours for the Gruyere cycling tour. Closely followed by getting in the top 25 at the Tour du Léman. Also cycling around Locarno, especially the early morning ride up to Mont Bre.

    Worst: Steer tube snapping as I accelerated out of the saddle onto a roundabout. Very grateful for the alertness of the driver behind me. Before hitting the ground, still holding the detached handlebars, I landed on the now exposed headset mm away from being emasculated. Also grateful to the lady who stopped to check if I was OK, and then apologised for not having a tool kit with her with which I could have fixed the bike?
