Best hip position on bike

hat is the best hip position on a road bike set-up.

I have heard about imagining if the hips are a bowl of water and to spill water forward.

What are the advantages of this?

Does anyone ever think about this or just do what comes naturally?

best position for your hips is to have one on either side of your ar5e.....other than that, I'm not really sure what you mean.....

don't really understand what the guy is getting at in that link. Would be better if he had tried to compare two riders whose legs were at least in the same position on the pedal stroke.

To answer your question though - hip position has never occurred to me.....maybe it should have done - but it hasn't....
  • surely your hips should fall into position as a result of having propper stem height and length, saddle height and pitch and being properly adjusted fore and aft?

bit of an odd one this

I think it'd be clearer to call it pelvic tilt or angle of the pelvis rather than hip position.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.
