No, that be on the dailymail site.

You've FAILed to realise I was supporting your opinion, Will!

I will continue to use Amazon if they have the best price for something I want to buy. All these frothing uninformed comments are giving me a freakin headache.

To all the posters harping on about how they're going to boycott Amazon, we need to know where you buy your groceries, petrol, clothes, electrical items so we can make sure you're being completely rational about all this.

Will you also boycott Tesco's on the basis that it sells sexualised clothing for girls under 16?

Nope, I don't go to Tesco as in my experience it's a soul-less shitehole of a place where you'll have better chance of finding a good deal on a 60" hdtv than bananas.
    .
soulless? It's a supermarket FFS - what do you expect, Damien Hirst installations and jazz musicians jamming in the aisles? I go there to get great, cheap food, not enrich my soul.

Haha, you missed the obvious response to that post which was to enquire where exactly one should shop for food so they come away with a warm happy glow as well as their groceries.

    Think before you post eh?

I know, some of the comments are just silly!

I agree, I was not sure which set of posts he did not like so I have presumed that he was in the keep buying from Amazon group. I certainly will not stop buying, indeed I have just spend 40 pounds a few minutes ago.

I've just received my £10 'cashback' voucher for excessive use of an Amazon credit card. Morally I don't want to use it...so who wants it? Yeah right...

In the real world I'm off to use it to buy a treat for my little 'un.

How weird is that? Buying something for my son from a website some deem as a paedo haven that should be banished from the face of the earth.

And for those calling on us to boycott Amazon. How long for? Today, a week, forever?

I think this is fantastic news. A nice paper trail with credit card transactions leading to potential child molesters all over the place

    Aaaand relax.

Some interesting points of view. I dont give a damn about the legalities of selling the book, just the fact that a) someone wrote it and b) amazon defended their position when the contents were brought to light.
Anyway, mission accomplished, public outcry = book removed.

And the Daily Mail wins again.

Just goes to show how accurate that Brass Eye special was.

No, strangely enough I go to supermarkets to buy food - my point being that a supermarket the size of a large aircraft hangar with no f@cking bananas isn't much use to me, sorry for causing you so much offence - you've obviously a big fan of tesco.

Anyway, has the author of this paedo book been burned at the stake yet? I love a good paedo burning me.

nah not really - I was being deliberately argumentative. I'm an Aldi man myself - you can't beat it for hot Polish chicks and good quality cheap German lager (brewed in accordance with the Reinheitsgebot, naturally)

Any other legalities you feel are discretionary?
  • FYI Amazon removed the book yesterday (10/11/2010) so no need to worry about it anymore.

I too had this logged in the memory as an urban myth so I did some googling and came across this report:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/4719364.stm

I think the earlier BBC Wales link seems to be accurate as there are other links to it from other news agencies.

I was referring to Spen666 asserting the fact that it wasn't illegal for Amazon to sell it. I don't care if it's legal, it shouldn't be and they shouldn't be selling it even if it is technically legal. Don't twist my words.

Then I haven't a clue what his point is then.
  • The author has just been interviewed on cnn and actually said that relationships with children are not harmful to them (the infants) but such a relationship can cause problems for the man as society sees him as an abuser....wtf.

They also spoke to an fbi agent who infiltrated the NAMBLA, the north american man boy lovers association, but if you're a stigmatised paedo woudnt it better to have a more discreet name for a paedo club....like....i dunno....the gary glitter fan club.

Jeez - can you imagine getting the brown envelope marked "FYEO" and then reading that?

    Poor guy...

Back to the main point, has anybody read the book to justify all the hysteria? Never judge a book by it's cover yadda yadda...?

    No...? :D

Not sure why the FBI felt the need to infiltrate NAMBLA as they have always been very upfront with their creepyness. Even willing to go on the national news and explain their "organisation". They even threatened to sue the organisers of a Gay Pride parade who wanted to ban NAMBLA from the festivities. The only thing more absurd than their sick sexual fantasies is their stupidity in thinking that society will find this acceptable. Arrggg. Humanity plods along.
