Cadence on turbo trainer

I used to struggle to get my HR up on the turbo trainer. I seem to be getting better at hitting the numbers now. However...
I have noticed that I tend to "mash" a bit more on the turbo. On the road I will spin along around 90-100 RPM.
On my turbo, I am more like 80-90, averaging around 85, sometimes around 80 when tired. If I try and ride it more like I would on the road, I just can't generate the speed and hence the power.
FYI I have a Cycleops Jet Fluid Pro.
Is this something I should work on i.e. spinning more like I do on the road, or just keep doing what I'm doing? Does anyone else notice this?

My club base our sessions on a 95 average, so warm up and recovery is all done at 95. We do cadence pyramids raising up to 120rpm and strength work where depending on the session we increase the resistance and lower the revs to imitate hill climbing or increase the resistance while trying to keep 95rpm. Steady state tonight warm up at 95 then 40 mins at 95 on a resistance you can maintain for 40mins then warm down.Neil

Some folk, myself included find it more difficult to raise their HR on turbos. I can't match my road power either.
FWIW I find myself more able to maintain higher powers at a lower cadence on the turbo compared to the road.More problems but still living....0 -
