Leading a group.

  • I can fully understand your chagrin after once leading a group myself. It is indeed a truly thankless task.

Perhaps you should advertise in this forum for a new bunch of recruits, and this time conduct and in-depth pre ride personality profiling session just prior to the pre ride sock inspection. I'm sure this will put you on the right track for successful bike outings in the future. Overall I absolutely sympathize and hope you can find a more amenable bunch of comrades.
  • You need to start again with a fresh group. Perhaps you should set up a screening process to ensure that they will share your vision. It seems that the Myers Briggs system is highly regarded. Obviously, you will be the leader, then you will need a drummer, a couple of guitarists and some brass. No doubt you will play the organ.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

 I can see how someone could have mistaken the OP as serious the first time around but not after it had already been flagged up as tongue in cheek!
  • If you're in a chain gang, fair enough. Otherwise, if on a weekend club run, get a life, if they want to chat they're adults I suppose. let them. If you want peace, ride on your own.
