dunno if you're talkin a different beer here, but fosters in aus. is bloody good stuff and its definitely not the cheapest beer round the joint.... :? :?

maybe try an aussie one..... (and drink it cold too  )
My bike takes me places that school never could
  • you have not lived until you have supped on Exmoor Gold and Hall and Woodhouse Tanglefoot.

I was in Dublin last week. a difference in some pubs in the Guiness but by far the best was in Porterhouse which makes its own stout/porter, and that knocks the pants off guiness anyday.

I like Fosters. I don't mind Stella either.
But Koperberg pear cider is where it's at. Or a nice JD.

I don't mind Carling, it's the best of the 'run of the mill' lagers, though it varies place to place.

    See, I dislike Carling.
  • Koperberg?

Cider should have Westons or Thatchers written on it.......

Is that the bottled stuff they sell in the cafe in IKEA?

One pint of koperberg is nice, any more and it becomes a bit sickly. I prefer Magners for a normal cider. I do like the taste of real ciders but they blow my head off and always feel poo the next day.

    My top lager is Peroni.

  • Have I tried it, yea a good few times.
but there is nothing to compare to the sickly sweet apple juice flavour of Old Rosie that you just know you are going to throw up at some point later on in the evening if you keep drinking it.

I thought Kronenberg was a rather nice lager. Stella was great but had the 'Wifebeater' effect so I put a self ban on it.

I stay away from absinth now. I used to always end up either completely insane, or in a massive punch up on the stuff.

Strongbow is utter wank, but bottled bulmers is quite nice in the pub.

Out of the pub I try allsorts of ciders.

  • They sell Westons in loads of pubs. Plenty of bottled ones. I like Vintage and Organic.

fosters is delicious, this is a fact. carling is ok if freezing cold. strongbow is the best cider with some lovely blackcurrant in it to give me a purple moustache after a decent session.

    magners is gopping.

kopperberg is excellent especially in pear format.

I don't like "normal" cider. It gives me the runs.
I thought that koperberg stuff was very mild - I mean, I usually love my sweet drinks, like monster ripper :D
But the pear cider was just superb. Apple cider is far more sharp.
