Wow! That's some build AshleyMP777! What's the spc on it?
I'm looking to buy an ASR5c myself but I don't think I could quite reach to that build. That's about £5.5k at a rough guess.0 -
Thanks Rob. Spec is page 1 of this topic. Full 2011 XTR groupset (minus the brakes), Avid XX brakes, Ritchey carbon WCS bars, stem, seatposat and saddle, Chris King hubs, Fox forks. Weighs 22.4lbs,2011 Yeti ASR5 carbon: http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/5817307/

Hi nice bike!
Can you please tell me how you actually weighed the bike? and does the weight include pedals?
Sorry it is a bit of an awkward question. I am looking to purchase a FS bike and yours is a very nice build and only 1100 - 1200 grams heavier than my Scale Ltd. I just wanted to make sure I was comparing like with like. Thanks!0 -
Drool!! Absolutely stunning0

I didn't I'm afraid. The shop who built it did. And it had XTR pedals on when they weighed it.2011 Yeti ASR5 carbon: http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/5817307/

Love the look of this.
Can i ask you a few questions?
How stiff is the frame?
Whats the mud clearance like?
Where did you buy it from?
What made you go for the ASR5 over other brands?0 -

The frame is incredibly stiff. I've ridden hardtails for 20 years from the Pace RC100, Orange, to Spesh S-Works carbons and Cotics and I have to say it's as every bit as stiff as they were, especially on the climbs. Sometimes I have to remind myself it's a full-sus.
Mud clearance is pretty good. I took delivery of it in November and rode throughout Nov/Dec in some pretty awful conditions and I never had any complaints about the clearance.
I bought it from Bromley Bike Company for the following reasons:
a) I wanted a fast, trail and race worthy full suss and all the reviews I read about it suggested it did exactly that.
b) When I test rode one last Summer I immediately fell in love with it. For the hour I had it I just had the biggest smile. It coped with everything so well.
c) It's light, very light. It currently weighs 22.5lbs, which for a full suss is astonishing. But it did cost me a few quid.
d) It's not a Trek, Specialized or Giant. Don't get me wrong, they are brilliant manufactures and you'd be a fool to suggest they can’t build light, agile full sussers but I just wanted something a bit different. And ever since I was a kid I've always wanted a Yeti - harking back to the John Tomac and Missy Giove years. So the brand has a real place in MTB'ing history.
Hope that answered your questions! Drop me a PM if you need to know any More.

I shall be replacing my current ASR with one of them.Trail fun - Transition Bandit
