no, my cables are interupted but i would much prefer continuous cables like i would have had with my specializeds.
the shims i have changed are the internal ones between the inner post and the tube, mine were worn already within about 2 weeks and the saddle could be rocked back and forth as well as left and right.
there is a tiny bit of left and right now but no fore and aft. it couldnt be felt when riding and i left it like that for ages without it getting worse but i couldnt get it out of my mind. the shims have to be hammered in and then shaved a bit with a knife or a file to make them perfect, a less capable person could well make an utter hash of it.
one good thing i noticed though is that the shims are about 2.5 times longer on the GD than they were on the joplin which explains why it (now correctly set up!) wiggles and moves around a lot les (although i still prefer the joplin in use)0 -
Oh sorry, I thought you were talking about external shims. That does sound like a bit of a faff I have to say.
I've warmed a lot to my turbo version. Although the force with which it springs up does sometimes make me think it's going to self-destruct. If you spring it up while you're off the bike, it damned near picks the whole thing off the ground.
I do prefer the lever operation to the Jop too.0 -
Green? Green you say?...
(I will get a pic up as soon as I am at home, during daylight. This week's been a tad chaotic.)0 -
loving the update big d. What about an Azonic seatclamp from CRC, I got a green one and it's a brilliant bit of kit, looks sharp and works like a beast.I like bikes and stuff0
