After I'd given some away to mates/paid off some peoples mortgages it would be au revoir to the UK and a big hello to some lovely place in Europe with low taxation, smooth roads and sunshine. There would then be a hedonistic time of hiring eg Fabian Cancellara to be my tour guide thro' Switzerland and Ernesto Colnago might be busy building C59s for the BR Forum readers because I'd have bought you all one Apparently I could buy over 32000 of them for that money
Comedy classic - 113 million and still worried about taxes!Faster than a tent.......0 -

I never said evil.
I just recon I'd end up convincing myself I was worth it - worth more than pretty much everyone else, and so behave like a w*nker towards people.
Which of course I'm not. Not at all.
Yeah that's what I meant, not evil.
and I see. Every time the L'Oreal advert comes on, you would scream at the very top of your voice at the TV "FUUUUCK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH I AAAM!!!"
:P0 -
No point in giving it away - look how many multinational companies pay v.little tax. The Rolling Stones paid only 6% on £70 million about 3 years ago so if the rich and powerful aren't paying their share I'm certainly not. Why do you think a lot pf pro cyclists live in Monaco - it's not just the weather and Louis Hamilton was off to Switzerland asap
Interestingly the interest on that Euro lottery win was £8k per day which is some £16k+ per day less than Rooney is supposed to be earning from his new contract.M.Rushton0 -

when you win just give me a call. You can fly across to Zürich, first class of course, I'll come and pick you up, chauffeur you down to the Colnago factory (or if you prefer, I'll organise a private jet), we can pick up our new bikes then I'll help you negotiate a special rate of tax with my local town council and with the Kanton (county). I reckon we can get your taxes down to 5% or less if I can work a deal on your national government tax. My fees for providing this service, at 0.5% pa are really low.0 -
I'd play the game "What would you do for a million pound for real with people I don't like"
Sad but true0 -

So you're saying you might start leaning a bit more to the right then?
It'll be no fun if you win it and take that attitude as there'll be no-one left on here to defend the poor and needy in the world so if you ever win you'b better hand the cash over to me before it corrupts you0 -

It's an awful thought, isn't it?0 -
As I am already happy with my lot in life I do not buy lottery tickets ..I have a few old bicycles...Hmm A bigger shed would be nice.....but I can live without it.bagpuss0

we can prob. live without a lot of stuff (11 speed and electronic shifting?) but sometimes I think it would be nice not to be on the radar. Just live somewhere nice and not have to worry about the bills/chavs/pensions etc. That would be my idea of a lottery win. To be able to maintain or raise my standard of living, not work, just be with my family, holiday/cycle when we want to etc.Basically just be free from the day to day grind most of us go thro'M.Rushton0

I'd be terrified to have a huge sum of money like that lottery win though. When you think that there are people who are quite happy to do some serious damage to people for £1k, what would they be prepared to do to you, your friends and family for a big chunk of £100+ million? Even without that, would you ever be able to ride your bike or walk about without being hounded by the press and beggars? No thanks, you can keep wealth and celebrity.
I'd take my £500k, see that my friends and family were okay and then set up some sort of charitable trust and give the rest away to that. Perhaps I'd make myself useful by doing voluntary work for my own charity!0
