plus it was only 2 quid from decathlon

you think wearing that makes you less of a 'wally' than wearing a cap

    Really?

Plus you're into winter wear there and a cap isn't winter wear it's spring/autumn for me

Are quite old and thus I end up with an exceptionally sexy looking mark on my forehead after the commute - kinda like /\_|_/\ ish

Using caps solves this issue - but do I just fork out for new pads or get some new caps :D

I might be asking because I'm browsing prendas and they have some lovely ones...

    orange and black :D

I look exceptionally good in my Molteni cap, especailly with the matching jersey and orange arm warmers.

    I cut quite a dash.

not wearing a cap in this picture... arm warmers fell down

Can I nominate this for post of the week? It's not often I actually laugh-out-loud at stuff on the tinterwebs but this raised a chuckle!

Wear a cap - it stops your head getting pregnant.

]So caps - the point of them:

1: Soaks up sweat - which might otherwise get in your eyes.
2: Provides protection from the elements.
3: The peak shields your eyes from the sun.
4 The peak sheilds your glasses from the rain, like today.

Cycling caps are badass, face it.

I'm going to get one of the winter ones with the fold down ear flaps like this

nope, as i said, i know it makes me look a wally, but it actually serves a real purpose - keeping your lugs warm. on days where your ears are warm anyway, you don't need some faux school cap to keep you toasty. a proper baseball cap, as LiT said, is far preferable in every possible sense.

Cap keeps sweat out of your eyes and the peak is used against the sun (even with shades it's still rather bright) and more importantly rain

in winter I'll wear a winter hat with does all of the above and has a flap that covers your ears

I cap is almost essential under a helmet when you have no hair

otherwise you have silly lines all over your head lol

That'd be just the job, I've just found a sugoi one in the cycle surgery catalogue, I suspect it's a smidge cheaper than the rapha one

    Innit, bruv.

They have a much larger peak, and keep the rain out of your eyes a lot better.

I only wear them on bikes and at airshows, though.

Cycling caps are excellent. I was very dubious, as I always am, of dressing or acting like Jimmy Somerville, but I've found them to be one of the best additions I've had to my cycling kit.

You do have to crane your neck a bit though to get a view up the road...
