Are quite old and thus I end up with an exceptionally sexy looking mark on my forehead after the commute - kinda like /\_|_/\ ish

Using caps solves this issue - but do I just fork out for new pads or get some new caps :D

I might be asking because I'm browsing prendas and they have some lovely ones...

you're covered in lycra maybe with a helmet... a cap isn't going to make any difference to looking like a pleb.

MM given your outpourings.. might be best to get 5+ and they're easier to wash than pads

but if i take my helmet off, I'll look infinitely more stylish with my locks flowing behind me rather than a faux-tweedle-dum-propellor-hat, surely?

Are there FCN points available for wearing your cap backwards, under your helmet?

see, that just makes me laugh out loud. it looks like a hat that's 2 sizes too small. no hat at all would look infinitely better and a helmet would be much more sensible (although look equally spacky).

might be a legend, still looks a bit of a wally. lycra makes you look a wally, but is necessary. caps make you look a wally but i'm yet to understand any benefit.

what part of they stop my helmet pads making a silly mark on my head didn't go in :D

In winter, if thou get a cold head - hats are often worn to aid heat retention.

So caps - the point of them:

1: Soaks up sweat - which might otherwise get in your eyes.
2: Provides protection from the elements.
3: The peak shields your eyes from the sun.
4: They are way more awesome than helmets.
5: If you get too hot you can just take it off and shove it in a pocket - can't do that with a helmet.

    1. That's what eyebrows were evolved for
    2. Not waterproof and sunscreen works better for the shiny stuff
    3. That's what sunglasses were invented for, which also repel bugs from your eyes
    4. Not if you land on your head
    5. Handlebars have a handy chinstrap for hanging them on your brake hoods

Ah the "great sportsmen do it so it must be alright" argument. So successful in justifying Bjorn Borg's headband, Chrissy Waddle's mullet, Graham Souness' paedo tache, and David Beckham's alice band, all of which I now sport at the same time out of respect.

1: We're not all as hirsute as you, my have evolved for the sole purpose of being raised quizzically - for example when reading your posts.
2: I can't put sunscreen on my hairy head, can wear a hat though.
3: Combo of cap + glasses works best, esp when heading into the setting sun
4: I've managed not to land on my head so far
5: Not sure I want something dangling precariously from my bars, might get in the wheels and cause an off...
