  • I love the fact Evra is sticking his nose in again, absolutely trolling life at Man U. He has a point though, why should the squad play with someone who doesn't believe in their ability?

@Ben. I'd heard Fergie is to have 80mil at Christmas, don't know how true that is?

What a greedy little chav he is. Him and man u plc are a perfect match. Both are perfect examples of what destroyed football.

    Destroyed football?

Don't talk fuck1ng bollocks. Just sayin...

Yes destroyed. The game is riddled with money grabbing little bastards like rooney, the clubs are no longer clubs but plc's. If you think that £180,000 a week is not obscene that you live on a different ******* planet from me. You sir are the one talking sh1t and sound like a typical head up your ars* football "fan".

    Just sayin.

I could get used to being called Sir...

I agree that £180,000 a week is obscene, but you cannot blame the state of modern professional football as a whole on the bigger clubs becoming public limited companies. There are FAR FAR worse things going on in modern day professional football than this.

    Just sayin...

By the way, I take back the agression in my original reply; it was uncalled for.

No worries Ben thanks for that..................Sir!
The root of all the evil is money. Before the sky money came the clubs were clubs, the players did not earn obscene money, the manager had some control over the players, the clubs did not see players walk out at the end of contract for no compensation, the foreigners did not flood the leaguediving around all over the place whilst depriving english players chance to play .
When I see a tw*t like cashley cole complaining of slavery because arsenal were 'only' offering him £55,000 a week it made my p*ss come in lumps!
I really don't care any more I have lost all interest, it's the true fans I feel sorry for. They show unswerving loyalty to the clubs whilst the players and the clubs treat them with utter contempt.

    Why footballers?

Doped up rock stars and egotistical actors have been earning that sort of money for decades. No one ever complains about how many millions Dylan and co have salted away. At least footballers don't pretend to be trying to change the world for the better while making sure they don't lose any of their own cash.

Football = working class sport. People earning lots of money is bad
Tennis, Formula 1, horse riding = middle and upper class sports. When they earn millions that's OK

Really, whether it's football, films, music or whatever, the rewards at the top are out of all proportion to what they actually do, but I agree with you that it's hypocritical to castigate one lot for earning their market value while laying off another lot.

The rewards at the top have always been big. Actors now get $20million per film, acts like The Eagles/Madonna/U2 go out for $1 million+ per night. but Elvis,The Beatles, Bing Crosby, Fatty Arbuckle were all rich.As long as people will pay then the money is there. The last few years tho seems to be a case of 'what won't people pay? then price it below that. But if any of us had the ability to play for a top flight club or drive an F1 car, would you say 'I'll be happy with 25k a year' or would you say ' I'm worth whatever I can get paid'

  • I saw on the front of the "Mirror" he's signed a contract for £250,000/week, is that true?

If it is, in the week millions of ordinary working people have been told they have real hardship ahead and 100s of thousands told their jobs are going; I just hope the fat, ugly, whoring, scouse b@st@rd can sleep at night.

Having said that anyone, who goes of with a whore especially while their wife is pregnant will have no trouble sleeping I wouldn't think.

To be fair if someone offered me £250,000 a week, I'm pretty certain I'd be able to sleep at night. The recession isn't Wayne Rooney's (or mine) fault - it just so happens he won't be affected by it.

Good points mate all valid aswell. It for me just goes beyond obsene (footballers wages) but this week in particular it seems more offensive than ever.

I think its good of him to get another £50-100k per week out of the Glazers.

That means he is contributing over £25k per week in tax to help reduce the government's debt. I don't see anyone here contributing that much to help the country get back on its feet.

If he is playing fair, then at £250,000 per week will certainly have him in the 50% bracket which means his contribution is £125,000 per week.

Then again, his accountant has probably taken care of that.......
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

I've not read anybody complaining about Bob Diamond who has just took over the retail banking section of Barclays. He is supposedly worth £90 million made during his time at the investment section of that bank. Anyone bank at Barclays who is going to lose your account? He'll believe he justifies his reward and I'm sure Wayne (and his agent) believe they are worth it.
