If you haven't read it how can you possibly say that his opinion is more valid than mine? What you read into my description is one thing or are you just reading into his description that he's just easily pleased?

I read both MBR and WMB. I buy MBR my mate he buys WMB when we have finished reading our respective mags we swap. Some months I think MBR is better some months I think WMB is better. Some months I would have to look at the cover to work out which one I am reading they quite often cover the same subjects.

Anyway which is better the Beano or the Dandy.

Im waiting for my copy to come through the little slot in the door, WMB are slacking, MBR are getting them out before you, usually the two mags come on the same day!
  • What a jolly litle thread. Nice to see that an argument can be had over just about anything on here now.

Does logic not suggest that as with any magazine it will appeal to different riders at different times. You either flick through it in ASDA to see if you like it, or subscribe and take the rough with the smoot. Market forces will show whether the magazine is any good. I'm not into rebreathers and tekkie diving, but does not stop me getting diving magazines. Whatever the sport is there is still the same isue

I'm going to start a 5 page thread about how my breakfast was a bit too milky today. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!

If the magazine was that bad, PM me your address and I'll pop you the price of the magazine in the post.
  • Well I popped in to Asda to see if was on the shelves yet (it isn't by the way).
But while I was there I spotted the current MBUK, and worked out the difference between an MBR reader and an MBUK reader.
When MBR gave away a buff a couple of months ago they didn't need to attach it to a set of instructions explaining what it was and what to do with it.

Does it come with free stuffs?

Meanwhile, when is MBR actually in the shops? Tried to find it in WH Smiths, Asda and Morrison's over the weekend.

So today I purchased, with my very own hard earned money, the latest copy of MBR. First thing that caught my eye was the free lights. FREE! That’s right, for the same price as a regular copy, you get two free LED lights!.

Upon opening the plastic sleeve (which stops the pikeys nicking the free stuff) and shaking the magazine, out fell 2 subscription vouchers with 10% off and a free Crank Bros 19 multi tool offer. Also a copy of the Autumn/Winter Joe Browns Catalogue.

Next, I tested the FREE LED lights, and they both work. Bonus!

Now to the magazine itself: well, there’s stuff about bikes and gear and riding and stuffs.

But, did I mention it came with FREE LED lights... :D
  • Nice one El Cap, I feel a trip to Asda coming on.
My Flash Harrys, that came free with MBR last year, live in the bottom of my Camelback for emergencies.
And I've been waiting for a worthwhile subscription offer, and if the gift is a CB multitool, then I think the time to subscribe has arrived.

Well I finally finished the mag. Not especially a brilliant issue but some good stuff I surprised myself and found the articles on downhill bikes very interesting even though the chances of me buying or riding a DH bike are about the same as me copping off with Ana Ivanovich.

I bought an EagleTac Torch on the strength of the lights review found it for £25 on ebay jebus its bright for a little torch might get myself 2 more and have 2 on the bars and 1 on my hat.

Richie1 I honestly couldnt see why this issue bugged you so much perhaps you have just got bored with it.

  • Well, pretty much the only reason I bought MBR was because of the free lights (I know I know, I could have bought a set for the same price as the mag).

After less than 3hrs in flashing mode, they've died! Poor effort

Will stick to MBUK from now on. Much better class of free giftage (not to mention content).

exactly! I was mortified that I lost my MBUK Buff when out on a ride last week

My MBR buff is safely in the back of the car, ready for this evening's night ride, obviously a superior gift.
Also my red flash harry has been looped through the rear vent slot on my helmet since it's arrival and is still doing a sterling job.

  • That's where mine was too.

The elastic snapped on the front one first time I went to use it and the rear one died after lass than 3hrs over 2 weeks on flashing mode including once in the rain.

Shoddy product from a shoddy rag.
