The last race of the season! Hooray! Or boo if you'll miss having no cycling to watch until February. Either way.

Here is the situation in the PTP GC - Kléber is 48 points ahead of FJS. There are 50 points on offer. In order for Kléber to win, all he has to do is pick a rider who finishes Lombardia in 9th place or higher. Or hope FJS doesn't pick the winner. Or, we could still have a tie if Kléber gets 10th and FJS gets 1st.

Cunego to win a 4th time would mean he has achieved something this season, Gilbert was in form at the WC and is always dangerous.

Clearly I can just wait for FJS to make his pick and then jump in his "slipstream".

But to make it more sporting, can I suggest something different? What about if both FJS and I submit our picks to AFX via private message?

This way the final pick is secret and it gives FJS a chance. OK, the points are small but as Greg LeMond said in 1989 about his duel with Fignon, "anything's possible, if he has a bad day and I have a good day...".

I think that's what we did last year, both FJS and I submitted our picks to afx via PM.

Agreed. This was how it was done last year. It's now all pretty unlikely with the massive gap in points, but I'll give it a good last try. picks per pm to afx
